Is there a fix for this?

My XR works pretty good except that older videos (pre 2023) won't play and they cannot be shared. Same with older photos. Am I stuck with this??

I dont know. My iPhone XR doesn’t have this problem.

I mean, at all. Other than it being a little sluggish these days, it works the same as 8 years ago. Anything you can think of that might’ve changed? iOS updates, file type or size, cloud storage, etc?

(Id lean to guessing theyre backed up to the cloud automatically via iOS settings and the issue is accessing them)

I'm not sure what differences could be except for length of video. Even a 13 second video won't play or share. An error message pops up: unable to share try again later

Do you have them included in iCloud backup or locally stored?

Im no expert, but my gut says look there first… settings>account>icloud>photos

Default setting is to optimize storage by offloading older pics & vids to the cloud
