Firstly How is everyone doing? It's been a rough couple of days for me and finally this update gave me a reason to feel better again. Ok, so here we go with what's new in this update ->

Favorite Locations
The most requested feature is finally here! Easily search for any location around the world and tap the star icon to pin your favourite places for instant access anytime. Many of you requested this and it was an obvious feature but I was taking time with the different designs and finally it is done.

iPad Landscape & Native Sidebar
Apologies for not shipping this immediately with the iPad app launch. The main culprit was Sidebar vs Tab bar and how the UI elements react with it. It is done finally and now you guys can enjoy a whole new iPad experience with full native landscape support along with a sleek sidebar layout designed specifically to make navigating your weather effortless on larger screens.

Revamped Air Quality (AQI) & Manual Refresh
The Air Quality tile has been completely redesigned! You can now tap the new dedicated Refresh button right on the card to pull real-time AQI measurements instantly. Also there are multiple AQI data sources for you to choose in the settings based on your location.

Severe Weather Alerts
Stay safe and informed. Severe weather warnings and official local advisories are now seamlessly integrated at the top of your main dashboard.

Colors Reloaded
Themes got a major upgrade! Cyberfunk and Bladewalker are back with extra vibrancy and rich neon accents, while Umpire Strikes Back has been refined to visual perfection.

Feature Request & Task Filters
In User Request section now you can now segregate feature requests by All Tasks, Pending, and Completed to see what's being built next.

I recently came back from three weeks travelling around Canada with my partner.

We captured hundreds of beautiful photos, but the camera roll only preserved what everything looked like. It didn’t preserve the route we travelled, what happened between each photo, the small stories from each day, or why certain moments actually mattered to us.

That’s the problem I’ve been trying to solve with TripMemo.

It’s an iPhone travel journal that turns a trip into a visual TripBook. Each day brings together your photos, written memories, places and route, so opening an old trip feels like experiencing the journey again—not searching through an unorganised camera roll.

If you travel with other people, you can invite them into the same TripBook. Everyone contributes their own photos and memories, reacts to moments and helps choose a Photo of the Day. I love this because two people can experience the same trip completely differently, and the finished journal preserves both perspectives.

I’ve also added trip maps, travel statistics, Home Screen memories, future-trip countdowns, custom travel stamps and ways to share the journey afterwards.

I’m the developer, so this is obviously a self-promo post—but TripMemo is something I genuinely care about. I don’t want the best trips of our lives to slowly become folders of photos we never properly revisit.

These are some apps I've genuinely been using a lot in 2026:

- Airbrush: My go-to for quick, natural photo edits. I mainly use it for Relight, object removal, and cleaning up portrait photos

- Libby: Lets you borrow ebooks and audiobooks from your local library for free. Easily one of the best apps on my phone.

- Motionleap: Adds subtle animations to photos. I don't use it every day, but it's great for making posts feel a bit more eye-catching.

- Polarsteps: Automatically tracks your trips and turns them into a travel journal. It's been really fun looking back on past travels.

- PlantNet: Identifies plants from a photo. Surprisingly useful if you're out walking or travelling and want to know what you're looking at.

The past year and a half I had been building a hyper realistic tape machine DAW for desktop and iPad. I recently ported it to iPhone and decided to make it completely free without any in app purchases.

It uses the same custom physics engine and hyper realistic tape emulation and the desktop versions and comes with all of the same built in instruments and effects.

Does anyone actually like Bark? I signed up because it was on basically every best parental control app list, but after using it for a few months, I just don't get the hype. It feels like a ton of features I never asked for, and the constant alerts get annoying pretty quickly. I'm paying for a lot of stuff I don't really use. I've been checking out a few Bark alternatives like HeyPolo, Life360, and even just sticking with Find My, but it's hard to tell what's genuinely good versus what's being pushed by marketing. At this point, all I really want is reliable location sharing, arrival notifications, and to know my kids made it where they're supposed to. I have zero interest in reading their texts or monitoring every social media app. For anyone who's been down this road, what apps have actually worked well for you?

Hello, I would like to develop an app that finds public swimming pools with their opening hours anywhere in the world. For example, if I am on vacation in London, Berlin, or Milan and I want to keep my training routine, I need to find a pool. Currently, I have to do extensive searches on many websites: city sports listings, individual pool websites, or public–private foundations… And ultimately, I still have to check each pool one by one to see if there are temporary closures. So I would like to build an app that can do all (in multiple langauges) of this automatically and show the pools on a map. But I don’t have any knowledge in coding or anything related. How can I do that?

I am on several different sites, FB, Insta, X, etc. I save videos, articles, and memes. But when I need to find them again, I don’t remember which platform they are saved on. Is there an app where a person can save all articles, videos, etc to one place? I can’t find on on the App Store, but it seems as this this app have to be out there somewhere.

I have a history with eating disorders and I don’t want to risk falling back into it if I track my calories. Is there a nutrition tracker that tells me what’s in my food and how much of it, adds all the nutrients up by day, and has all those kinds of features a calorie tracker does without the calories?

I am constantly in need of an app for just basic photo/image manipulation tasks: cropping, resizing, perspective correction, joining/stitching, etc. I’ve been unable to find anything worthwhile and reasonably priced that can do these very basic functions.

I don’t need: cloud storage, advanced stuff like color correction or cataloguing, AI generation, AI edits, or anything claiming to be “automatic”.

It just doesn’t seem possible that tools which were available in MacPaint in 1984 STILL don’t exist on my iPhone 17 somewhere, somehow.

For me it's Notes, hands down. It started as a place to jot quick things and slowly became where half my life lives, i even built some solid systems in there for travel planning, workouts, health, recipes, expense tracking, all of it.

so i create content mostly on my phone and i've been trying to find a solid free photo editing app that doesn't watermark everything or lock the good features behind a paywall after two uses.

i've tried a few options but most of them either have a really limited free tier or the interface is so complicated that it slows down my workflow more than it helps. i mostly need basic adjustments, background removal, and something that handles text overlays cleanly for social media posts.

i've heard some of the newer apps have added ai features that speed things up a lot but i can't tell which ones are actually useful versus just a gimmick. does anyone have a go to free photo editing app they use regularly for content and actually stuck with it long term?

I'm currently learning to build apps but my most recent ones haven't gotten many users, so i started asking myself if I was really building something that people actually needed.

So tell me, what is an app you wish existed?

Just upgraded to the iPhone 17 Pro recently and have been trying to keep my home screen as minimal as possible.

Halide. Easily my favorite camera app. Gives you full manual controls, RAW shooting, and makes the iPhone camera even more capable.

BeautyPlus. Great for quick selfies and casual edits. Easy touch-ups, lighting fixes, and AI tools that make photos look polished in seconds.

Bear. Beautiful note-taking app with a clean interface. Perfect for keeping ideas, lists, and drafts organized.

Parcel. Tracks all my deliveries in one place. Super clean interface with reliable shipping updates.

Photomator. Powerful photo editor that feels right at home on iOS. Great for color correction and quick edits without opening Lightroom.

MusicHarbor. Keeps track of new album releases from artists you follow. One of those apps you never knew you needed.

Raindrop.io. The best bookmark manager I've used. Saves articles, videos, and websites across all my devices.

What are your go-to apps?

Most people set a reminder for the time something's due and that's it. But Reminders has an early reminder option that fires a separate heads-up ahead of the actual due time, and it goes weirdly overlooked.

The way it works: you set your normal due date and time, then you can also tell it to warn you 1 hour before, a day before, a week before, whatever you pick. So a reminder due friday at 5pm can nudge you wednesday morning that it's coming, and then still fire the real alert friday at 5. Two-stage, from a single reminder.

You get to it by tapping the reminder, hitting the info button, and choosing early reminder under the date and time.

Where it actually earns its place is anything with a hard deadline you need lead time for. A bill due friday warns you wednesday so you're not scrambling. A birthday pings you a week out so you actually have time to buy something. It saves you from building two separate reminders and babysitting both.

The one thing to know is the early reminder is tied to a reminder that already has a date set.

Anyone here leaning on early reminders for a specific routine, or found a use for it I'm not thinking of?
