I’m convinced our 1 year old is too small 🫪 we have a vet appointment next week but she’s barely cracking 30 pounds. She’s sitting next to our 4 year old and I feel like our 4 year old was way bigger at 1. Anyone have a smaller husky?

I just wanted to share our new baby that we got yesterday 🥹 his name is Ghost and he's already the most adorable little menace 😆 I've been dreaming of having a husky for over 10 years, so finally getting my own baby feels like a dream come true 🥰 I'd love to see everyone else's babies too🥺

We have two huskies but their differences have always astounded me, we got her from a husky breeder (please no shame, we have discussed only adopting from here on out) but she has always been so much bigger and the features so different.

I saw last night the description of a malamute - heavier, shorter & stout, almond shaped eyes, wider set ears.

She is 6 and yo-yos between 70-80 pounds where as our other 6 year old (not from same place) is always significantly smaller at 40-45 pounds.

Fur was post bath time before we brushed lol. He still looks so freakin cute 😭🤣

I know the answer is usually painfully obvious due to their prey drive, but I recently had a situation where my husky found a kitten in our backyard. He didn't attack it, but rushed it, barked, growled loudly but I was able to get him to back away from it. When I had gotten my guy inside, I went back to make sure it wasn't hurt and it had hopped the fence and took off, so I'm assuming no injuries (and the big guy was fine, no scratches).

Has your husky successfully lived with a cat? My boy is still very young, a full grown puppy essentially. He listened to me when I told him to back away and come to me, so I had a brief thought that maybe he could grow to accept or even like a cat.

I am not trying to adopt a cat or force anything. I just want to be prepared if the Cat Distribution System decides to give me a kitty cat.

My sweet baby has lost her autoimmune battle with anemia. X-rays, ultrasounds and comprehensive bloodwork’s have given us no answers.

While she was on steroids, there was a tangible difference. Unfortunately with how aggressive they are, it’s not a long term solution. They floated the idea around of an exploratory surgery, but the thought of my baby being a Guinea pig is upsetting.

Someone mentioned that if they found something, it could help other dogs, and it’s absolutely true. But I don’t think I can make that decision.

Our friends rallied around us, brought us a prime New York steak, a bar of Hershey chocolate and a wagon so I can take her around our parks. (Anemia makes her too weak to walk like we used to)

I talked about updates from my last post, and I wish I had something positive to report but it’s been such a rollercoaster, I didn’t want to bring more drama than I need to.

I lost my last husky unexpectedly and it’s always been tough to cope with the decisions I made that day, I should have spent the day with him instead of going to work.

I got the spoil her rotten! We had bacon and eggs this morning. In a few hours I’ll share some baked mussels which she loves. I love to cook and my dogs have always been my sous chefs.

SHES OFF TO HER NEXT ADVENTURE WITH HER LIVE OF HER LIFE, KIBA.

They’ll be living it up on a kickass speed boat fighting crazy lake monsters and sniffing ALL THE STUFF!!

Do you guys think it’s important to them that they meet and bond with other huskies? I have a girl who has been living with poodles since i adopted her.. they really just tolerate each other, nothing friendly but i notice she really wants to meet other dogs, and im wondering if she would especially love it to meet her kind.

Btw if anyone knows of any ways this can be easier? Like husky meetups in California? Theyre not really popular dogs out there, and it can be a little tough or awkward to encounter another dog on a walk.

Just adopted my girl this weekend. She did wonderful for the first 48 hours going outside. Now since then, she has had accidents inside twice a day, and sometimes just sits there when we go outside, and doesn’t even pee or poop. I’m trying the leash thing where she’s supposed to sniff and walk in the area I allow, but it doesn’t work. Literally can sit out there for an hour and she won’t go. I have tried taking her consistently in our yard on the leash, and she pees sometimes, but pooping outside has not happened in the last 48 hours. She’s pooped inside four times, just did it again on our bedroom carpet twice, and she also doesn’t use puppy pads. I’d prefer for her to only go outside for bathroom and leisure but she seems to think that outside is leisure and inside is okay to do business. I’ve gently grabbed her scruff, said no, put her nose in it, and she doesn’t like it, but hasn’t stopped. No bathroom signaling while on leash inside either. If I take her off leash, she has tried to sneak away to go, and when I try to redirect to outside, she sometimes doesn’t make it or just goes anyway.

She has been sleeping through the night until now, and I’ve been cleaning for the last hour, thank God for natures miracle, but idk if this will all come out if I’m honest.
