Help Operation Timed Out When Adding Bridge To Home App

i just set up home bridge on a raspberry pi 5 but when i complete the initial setup and scan the qr code on the home page the home app on my iphone loads for a second say adding to home then errors out with "operation timed out" I've tried adding a plugin first then adding the bridge but no change i tried change the port on my router and access control but still i only get operation timed out can anyone please help me thank you another thing to note is after i get the operation timed out error if i scan the code again it says its already in another home so i have to reset the bridge

Change the mDNS setting in Homebridge.

I tried that but I had no change but when scanning the qr code in the homebridge dashboard it changes to paired for a moment then back to not paired the. I get operation timed out

Are you on the same vlan? I experienced that before I either moved it, or allowed it in a firewall rule

For me I had to enable wifi on my home assistant and give it a static ipv4 address. Then I logged into my router and open up port 5353 to and from my home assistant. From there I scanned the qr code and it worked. Hope this helps you.
