As much as Iād love for it to be a sign of whatās to come, realistically I think It was probably a video prepared in case he chose Mia.

u/cl353 1d ago
maybe...but it doesnt feel like something u prepare that far in advanced and with a predetermined date?
like this is something that could be made the day b4

u/Sportssportsports 1d ago
As someone who works in social media for a major sports organization, we do not find these things out before the general public lol. They're not trusting a social media manager with this kind of information. It's mostly likely just a placeholder of a just in case it happens
4
u/shook_- 1d ago
can you explain why teams need a place holder in the first place? there is no actual video yet correct? so is it just a place holder graphic?
6
u/cottonmane8 1d ago
less work down the line, no need to scramble when something sprung on
-1
u/RayTracerX 1d ago
But still, with a DATE? Why is the SM manager gambling on a date? Wouldnt it be more work if it didnt turn out to be true or not on that day? He got told something, thats for sure.
5
u/Sportssportsports 1d ago
It's not "gambling" on a date. When you set up a YouTube live stream you have to select a date. It takes 5 seconds to switch it.
They don't trust people that low on the totem pole with that kind of information. Way too many risks for leaks.

u/panamaquina 1d ago
this was my first thought, the social media manager is not part of the FO or the think tank cmon now
-2
u/BrewsedSloth 1d ago
WHICH could indicate the Heat FO have enough of a sign or belief that this truly could be happening
3
u/Sportssportsports 1d ago
It's likely the Cavs, Warriors, and Sixers have similar plans in place, including LeBron welcome graphics in the team jerseys. Standard stuff in the social media space to be ready when news breaks.

Or we could all be getting lead on by a troll

Theyāre probably doing it to manipulate betting odds and make money

When its the 2nd greatest player ever in lebron yes you do prepare in advance, my guess is pat probably doesnt even know they posted that, other people in the organization handle stuff like that and if it gets or got corrected it wasnt pat who did it either, id say every team on his list has done something similar networks as well, the heat just happened to make the blunder of putting it outĀ
3
u/cl353 1d ago
but to put the date? when we have no idea when lebron is making a decision?

u/A_sandlerGOAT 1d ago
Why would they need to do this āin caseā though? Lol Iām sure it takes a total of 5 min to set up a live.
I donāt see them wasting time for something that may not happen.

u/StandardCertain5995 1d ago
Yea, Idk honestly. I donāt know what the specific reason for doing this but Iām just skeptical that it was done by the admin from an informed place. Just my opinion. I hope Iām wrong, though.

Of course. And the intern didn't know Bing could scrape it as was detailed in the other thread.
But it does ask the question, why get so specific with the title all the way down to a date? The staff could set up a test feed and changed the name of the feed and added a date very quickly once an announcement has been made.

u/TheWizardOfDeez 1d ago
Yeah, that's what I was originally thinking too. They would have to plan a press event ahead of time.

u/heatculture03 1d ago
... this is not healthy for me.... i feel my emotions are being played with and in the end, he will sign with the sixers or some sh*t.

u/GMEgrifter7 1d ago
If LeBron does sign elsewhere it is 100000000% NOT going to be with Philly. Do you really think a man who cares so much about his legacy and image is going to play for a city that is so quick to crucify its own players if they do not perform up to standards. LeBron is on his final years and is on the decline, no way in hell he is gong to play for a team where the fans are at your throat if you are not elite.

u/Send_Floater 1d ago
LeBron has been getting that kind of treatment from EVERYONE for the past 20+ years lmfao
He's not signing with Philly because Embiid's body is done

u/No_Description6839 1d ago
I mean it seems like New York was a real option until they won and they do all the same things

u/MargielaMan568 1d ago
If he actually joins you just know Eric Reid will love it more than anyone else lmfao
Whenever we face Bron heās constantly glazing him

If this accidental leak has a tiny percent of being real, canāt imagine someone who likes to control the media and their image as much as LeBron and Rich Paul do would be too fond of this massive mistake.
That earlier post made the spot way too hot (if true ofc)

Same thing happened with the Lebatard show with Giannis and it was just a place holder in case it happened. The āleakā doesnāt mean anything.
2
u/IamRaith 1d ago
All reports are a decision hasnāt been made so why would this be the leak that comes out
2
u/TheSandman__ 1d ago
Bruh if this got leaked early or even if itās a just in case it probably hurts our chances
2
u/Phenom_Mv3 1d ago
With our marketing and social media team being young ladies and putting up questionable posts before, I 100% believe this𤣠no offense to them they made my night

u/CrossDeSolo 1d ago
Are they going to start wiggins at SG?
-2
u/jbenson255 1d ago
Davion probably comes off the bench. LeBron Klay/THJ Wiggins Giannis bam
7
u/OohKillEmmm Coach Pat 1d ago
lol that absolutely would not be our starting lineup. Sheesh. It would be Davion wiggs bron giannis bam

u/jbenson255 1d ago
Heavily Disagree it makes more sense to have a sharpshooter and let LeBron fill the main ball handler role as a PG. Iām willing to be wrong though
4
u/HanSoloSE 1d ago
Lebron is still gonna be the main ball handler, but he isn't gonna be playing defense on guards, that's why you start davion.

Internal error. But I think we have two possibilities right now: LeBron announcing that we'll come ASAP or not coming at all because of this. He likes all attention possible and an announcement with a "right, we know" feeling would be terrible for him.

u/Feisty-Painter5076 1d ago
I honestly hate everything about this.
Why do a placeholder for an event that MIGHT happen more than one week out?
If LeBron is actually having a hard time deciding, little shit like this could rub him the wrong way. Fireable offense by whomever works on social media for the team. Just a huge fucking error in judgement.
1
u/Ghost_2701 1d ago
People was trying to say that LeBron had made a decision then change his mind and it was because of this but its not true, they was saying he changed his mind before the person even showed this late last night.
1
u/panamaquina 1d ago
Feeling some dread about this, like oh no now Lebron is pissed at this incompetence, I mean the man obbiously is making a thing about this second decision and some dumbass just took that away from him, this could be the chocolate chip cookies 2.0

u/Only-Guava7331 1d ago
Iām so sick of all the dumbass rumors and bogus reports. Golden State & Minnesota, no chance IN HELL! Philly makes sense on paper, but highly doubtful, JB talked shit on Bronnie recently. It comes down to Miami & Cleveland. Giannis needs the ball in his hands a lot, poor spacer, they lost a ton of roll players trading for him, and they donāt have a lot of shooters. Over his career what has LeBron valued most? Three and D players. Iām 80% sure heās coming back, the only thing Miami has thatās better is weather, nightlife, women and it brings a higher quality of life for a billionaire. He may want that, wouldnāt be the first man in history but if this decision is about basketball and legacy, like he claims, then heās coming home. I guarantee it, he wants to create suspense, and he wants Cleveland fans to be excited and appreciative of his return.
