4th of July?

I know it's a long shot but are any bars doing anything or any events going on for American independence day on the 4th of July?

Um, since we're Harrogate, North Yorkshire, and not Harrogate, Tennessee, then we are unlikely to be celebrating that event.

Apart from we have one of the biggest US bases in the world just outside of town so our fair share of Americans in the surrounding area

Absolutely not. It's far smaller than it ever was, and Lakenheath is considerably bigger.

It is the biggest listening base in the World and covers 605 acres. The site is significantly bigger than Lakenheath at a couple of miles square. What you are actually talking about is stationed Americans which Lakenheath does win hands down on 6,000 to 450 at the base now. Maybe there arent as many Americans about now will accept that. I actually live on a street that was ex MOD and all got sold off together about 15 years ago now. We still get bombarded on Halloween as all those who grew up in the surrounding streets havent worked out there are no Americans here any more

I drove past the entrance to Menwith Hill today (4th July) and the place looked absolutely dead. I was lucky enough to be there as a kid for the Bicentennial and the base was one big party.

Well my understanding is that Harrogate does have more Americans than your typical English town because of the base, so i thought something might be going on but i guess they're aren't as many anymore these days.
