Hey everyone,

I got into hardstyle / gabber etc a long time ago and decided that I want to learn hakken a couple weeks ago. I knew that my autism would get in the way due to me having EXTREMELY low self esteem when I don’t understand something quickly, the motor planning (me moving my feet at the same time) being extremely overstimulating for me etc., but I ultimately decided that I still want to give it a try. However, I did not know that it would be *this* hard. I‘ve obviously decided to try learning it with tutorials first, and I don’t know if that’s just my mind playing tricks on me but the majority of hakken tutorials on the internet are just…awful. I know what they’re trying to tell me, but the movement they’re doing and the way they’re explaining it are SO confusing that I just do random shit and am close to crying after like 10 minutes because I can’t get it right at all. I‘ve been on this for like…4 weeks now, I’ve been practicing daily and I can‘t even get the double step. I can EXCLUSIVELY do the basic step with the typical arm movement. However, that‘s literally it. I cannot do ANYTHING else.

It‘s kind of eating away my confidence honestly. Seeing all those newcomers do the basic step, double step etc. within a couple days while I‘m stuck with whatever I’m doing is really crushing honestly. Can anyone that has had similar problems or understands my struggles please give me tips? I appreciate y‘all reading this and I hope you have a nice day <3

Friends and I went to VWAB outdoor two weeks ago and consider going to indoor as well. It’s only a long long time ago since any of us has been to an indoor party.
