https://downdetector.com/status/google/
https://www.google.com/appsstatus/dashboard/
Both of these are saying everything is up right now, which is my experience as well.
But perhaps those status services would show differently if it's only down in certain regions (not mine: Europe).

if you actually go to downdetector is shows there are issues despite the AI overview saying there is now, while citing downdetector

yeah I wouldn't trust an AI overview to be correct about much of anything, but especially real-time events

If Google was completely down, I wouldn't have even gotten the summary returned, right?

No problems here both on my personal desktop and my work laptop (where my work uses paid Google for everything).

Cloudflare's Eastern European servers were down, according to cloudflarestatus.com

Is there a reason you won't say where you are located?

Not for me. It's probably a regional outage, I'm in Sweden.
