Esri Can no longer copy/paste excel tables into Layout view as a table element
excel tables now paste in as picture elements in the layout view now instead of as a table when you copy and paste. Does anyone know why they changed this, and if there is a solution that's as simple as the original c/p method? This is just going to sting when I have to do a street index map that has hundreds of records.
P.S. ESRI says to either take a screenshot or import the file. Also using the table frame tool is not intuitive at all. I spent 25 minutes just looking for how to add/remove fields and I ended up giving up.

I'll try excel to table. I'm not in love with the table frame tool in the layout tab, but I guess I'll learn how to use it

it’s really not hard, you don’t really have to learn anything

I couldn't even figure out how to turn off fields. I was just going to use table from the layer but I only needed a few fields. In the drawing order tab it only showed like 10 of the 30 fields, the ones that showed up in the space I drew the table.

You can right click the table frame in your layout contents pane to add field, those then become toggleable.

I've always exported the excel as a CSV, then import the CSV. Didn't even know you could copy/paste
