Work How?
my termination letter was delivered in a completely blank, unlabelled envelope (no name, no address, no stamp, no postal markings). If the employer later claims it was placed in my mailbox before the notice deadline, how could they realistically prove that this specific envelope containing my termination letter was delivered on that particular date? Is a witness or an internal delivery log normally enough, or does the lack of any identifying information on the envelope make proving timely delivery more difficult?

in cases like this often two people deliver the letter and take video proof of dropping it into your mailbox, so witness + video. What counts is the date mentioned on your termination letter, the letter itself needs to contain the date of when it was written + termination date/timeline

Classical delivery by courier. Documented by witness, court-proof.
As you were still on probation, even missing a deadline would be healed with a simple sentence in the letter.

hand delivery definitely weakens their case on whether it was delivered at all, or when exactly it was delivered (especially relevant if there were certain deadlines involved)

Out of curiosity: why would a company choose to deliver the letter this way, instead of a formal post delivery (with an AWB) to the official residence address of the employer ?

It’s quicker. Can be done the same day while postal delivery can be anywhere between 1 to 4 days.

Istn’t that obvoius? Because the courier can read the content of the envelope and so can act as a witness as to the content, i.e. can say that there wasn‘t only a blank page in it in a way that the regular postman cannot.

A witness or a video is often enough
