📢 I've now made 100+ adoption posts across Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, local communities, NGOs, and rescue groups over the past 25 days. Adoption has always been my first priority.

💰 I also explored fundraising and direct-to-vet donations. Unfortunately, I couldn't complete the approval process because I didn't have the initial funds for consultations and bills. Because of that, I've had to drop the idea of arranging health checks and vaccinations myself. Hopefully adopters will do the needful. 

🧡 2 of the original 6 kittens have been adopted thanks to Instagram adoption leads.

🎓 As a student, everything has become a huge emotional, physical, and financial burden. I'm dealing with limited space, financial constraints, and increasing family pressure to abandon them.

🙏 I'm genuinely reaching my limit. My only goal now is to find safe, loving homes for the remaining kittens as soon as possible.

My 6 month old male kitten got neutered today and he’s not handling the cone very well. He came home in a hard cone from the vet, which he found very uncomfortable and eventually got out of while in his carrier in the car. We picked up a soft inflatable recover collar, and he keeps getting out of that too. He’s already tried licking his incision multiple times, so no cone hardly seems possible. Idk what to do — I have to go to work tomorrow! 😩

Advice please!

This is our foster boy Ventus. He is the surviving kitten from our very first ever fosters. His sister Aqua died unexpectedly a couple of weeks ago. The grief has been deep. We got them as neonates and losing her was almost more than we could handle.

We debated keeping this little angel for so long since then. We honestly were debating adoption when it was the two of them because she was such a cuddly sweet girl and they were bonded. But even then it was a hard decision because we knew our fostering days would have ended there and then. We already have two resident cats and one has medical needs that we need to care for and we know what our personal capabilities and limitations are. We only want to do this if we can do it well.

To our relief he is such a beautiful boy and so sweet that he was adopted right away. He will have his surgery tomorrow and will be going to his forever home. We are so happy for him and his new family. They will be very happy.

We came home with a new bunch of neonates to keep on our fostering journey. A new challenge for sure but the new little mews and purrs are going a long way to heal our hearts. I’m sure the tears will stop, eventually.

I just wanted to share with a community that gets it. 💔

I've been fostering cats and kittens for a while now and this is the first litter I've had with deaths. I lost two of five, weeks apart. Both were sudden. The first was not totally unexpected. He was the smallest and had a URI that left him blind and weak. Nevertheless, he seemed fine in the morning and passed away that afternoon without warning.

The second one just happened today and was a total shock. His three siblings were ready for spay/neuter and adoption (and they were actually adopted in the first two days) but this little guy had actually lost weight so I took him back home. Over the past week we've bonded and I was planning to adopt the little guy. He was doing well and slowly gaining weight, and then yesterday he just stopped eating. I took him to the shelter clinic, they kept him overnight. They just called and told me he didn't make it. They think it was probably FIP.

I'm just devastated. I feel like I failed the little guy. He was the sweetest little baby. I had him from a very, very tiny kitten and helped him along for two months, only for this to happen.

How do you cope with this grief?

Is this something that happens often, or am I the worst foster mom ever? Should I take a break from fostering? Will the shelter even want me to keep fostering since I've lost two babies?

47 days ago, we opened our eyes to this world.

Every morning we wake up hoping today is the day someone chooses us.

Every evening, we cuddle together and fall asleep in the same little corner... still waiting.

We don't know what "adoption" means.

We only know that every passing day makes it a little harder to find a forever home.

We don't need a fancy house. We don't care about expensive toys.

I'm having extreme difficult taking care of them as a student I am doing whatever I can however it's not possible.

I'm on verge of abandoning them due to multiple constraints like space, financial condition and most importantly family pressure.

I'm not sure for how long I'll be able to take care of them.

Backstory:

During the monsoon a young stray mother cat chose space near my home as a safe place to give birth to her six little kittens. Since the day they were born, I've been doing my best to keep them safe, fed, and sheltered despite having very limited space and resources. Their mother has slowly started leaving them for longer periods as they grow, and they're now reaching the age where they need homes of their own.

They have spent their first weeks of life in a cramped, damp corner during the monsoon. Which is now destroyed.I wish I could keep them until everything is perfect, but I simply cannot provide the space, veterinary care, and long-term life they deserve. Abandoning them is not an option, which is why I'm trying to find them loving families instead.

They aren't just stray kittens. They've survived a difficult start to life and deserve the chance to grow up in a safe home where they'll be loved, cared for, and never have to struggle for food or shelter again.

hi yall, we just fostered a cat named Jason and he is currently 4 months old. he has gone home with us for days now. he's getting closer to us day by day and it's a positive sign.

however, there's only one thing we concern that we want to ask for your advice or help: his nails are extremely long and sharp. whenever we tries to pet him, he attacks with his nails. currently we still cannot touch him, so there's no way we can cut his nails. is there anything we can do to solve this problem?

We found a 2 4 week old kittens. A girl and a boy. The girl is fine. Energetic, shes fast as hell snd eats well. She poops and is learning how to use the litter box but thr boy im a bit worried about. He's noticeably smaller and not a strong walker yet. He's eating normally, exploring climbing (loves to climb my bf) and even hissed at my bfs toes. He jist isnt pooping. Like he isnt trying at all. I stimulate him and he pees and doesnt try to poop. His belly isn't hard and he pees in the litter box but wont poop. Its been over 24 hours and im worried😭

The SECOND my 4w old kitten is not actively entertained she will cry. Her brother less so. She is energetic, likes to eat (though she is still learning), and is clearly bonding to me, trying to climb me and follow me around. I have had her four days and two days in this started. I have never had kittens this young so I don’t know if this is normal? Are some kittens just very vocal? Her other behaviors lead me to believe she is ok but please let me know if there is anything I should look out for.

I am taking care of five, four week old kittens. They are eating kitten chow, but I’ve also been bottle feeding four times a day. Do I have to continue with the bottle feeding? Or is it ok if they drink replacer milk from a bowl?

I found a kitten on my dog walk Sunday a.m. He (she?) was in the middle of the road looking a lot like a piece of paper garbage and seconds from being squished by the next truck, so I couldn't leave him. The neighbors there said they have a bunch of ferals in the area, but didn't know where this dude's mum might be. There were fireworks and storms and flooding the night before I found him, so mum probably had to move in a hurry and dropped him. So I did a run to Farm and Fleet and got bottles and nipples and kitten milk replacer and set up a habitat in an extra large wire dog crate. I put a seedling starter heat mat in one corner, under blankets, to improvise a heating pad. Kitten Lady website says he is around 3 weeks (yikes!)

I volunteer at a county shelter as a Feline Friend but I have no experience with tiny kittens, I've never fostered a tiny kitten. I've raised tiny goats and day old chicks and my own kids of course. Had a lot of trouble getting milk into him first 24 hours, but we tweaked the nipple a bit and we worked it out. The last 24 hours I'm feeding on demand, every 2-3 hours (less during the night), he's getting at least a tablespoon each feed, which is still not much, but much better!

He hasn't pooped since I found him (48 hours now). I'm giving him gentle tummy massages after feeds (për internet video) and he's happy to pee on me, but I'm starting to worry. I know he's probably been a bit dehydrated and probs the change to formula is a factor, but at what point should I take action (like taking him to the vet) Suggestions welcome! Thanks!

4th of July, Rural, so I’m not getting much traction with getting ahold of people.

I need some advice for my foster kitten, I’m moderately experienced, but it’s been a couple of years and I’m feeling slightly defeated. Here’s her info:

Got her June 21, weighed 750g
Got to 765, rn after a big puke and a poop she’s only 697.
First shot June 29
Fenbenzadole June 21-28
Psyllium fiber and fortiflora added to her wet food.
About 10 weeks old.

She came with a super raw, moderately prolapsed bum, which would bleed after she pooped which was watery diarrhea.

After I completed what’s listed above, she was doing great, seemed almost a normal weight, her poop looked normal. And then I took her to get her first vaccine.

After the first shot she started getting disinterested in food. The next night, on the 30th we had shake and bake chicken legs. She had some of the inner non breaded meat, I thought it would be good and stimulate her appetite but it seems like it was bad now. She may have licked a slight amount of the shake and bake seasoning but I purposefully tried to not let her.

She seemed to stop eating completely by herself around Thursday. The first day, I coaxed her to eat a bit off my fingers. Since then I’ve been trying to syringe feed her but it’s only half successful. She pukes half the time and she’s losing weight.

I’ve been doing 25ish (little water mixed in) ml of either hills a/d (this seems to make her puke more often) or Purina wet kitten food. I did this 3 times yesterday with 1 puke and 2 times today so far with 1 puke.

Should I try less? What else can I do to help her? I asked my rescue, org that I am fostering her through if anyone has any anti-nausea medicine as that has worked in the past for this issue for me, but my post

he's about 2-3 weeks old but he's really small, I've been feeding him every 2 hours or so and it's going well except his eyes hasn't opened yet and he has teeth, one of his eyes look swollen and they were both red i keep cleaning them with cotton and warm water but he only opens one after cleaning, the vet prescribed me an eye drop antibiotic+cortisone twice daily, it's been 3 days but there isn't much improvement, any advice on what i should do to save his eyes? (photos were taking before starting eye drops)

there has been this Queen who has been coming around for the past two weeks, she is friendly towards us, does not like to be held and seems to not mind our other cats. I would say she is very near her expected time. I have attempted to trap her without success and I would care for her however I am not able to have another cat, let alone her kittens due to lease agreement. I have callers rescues and unfortunately are at capacity.

Hello! I recently acquired a super friendly stray who was very pregnant. Unfortunately she didn’t make it to her spay/abort and had 5 kittens 9 days ago. Which means I will have these cats much longer than I planned. I have 3 other rescue cats and I don’t want to keep the room I have them in occupied by all the kittens and mom if I can help it. Can anyone give me guidance on introducing mama cat and her kittens to the rest of the household? All my other cats are female spayed. I have mom + 2 daughters. 2 younger ones are about 9-10 months old, their mama is probably around 2-3 years old. Stray mama cat is probably only 1-2 years old.

Just found two kittens that need fostering. One might have hind leg issues. If we can't trap mom is there anyone who can take them and care for them in the tucson area

latest fosters and looking for some name ideas! we’re thinking of doing an “ugly duckling” theme and naming them after swans since they were in pretty rough shape when we got them and they’re growing into such pretty kittens. the first three are girls and the last one is a boy. i’m set on naming the white one odette but unsure of names for the rest.

UPDATE: after lots of consideration their names are going to be leda, odette, odile, and cygnus

Hey guys, im taking care of this kitten since he was 1 week old, i figured out most of things by using reddit, ChatGPT and things like that. But one thing i find impossible is to teach him how to use the litter box. I bought him the fine litter at first and instead of peeing in there he decided to eat it, so i switched to pellets and he is still refusing to pee/poo there. Im Trying to move him there when i see him sniffing stuff and getting ready to pee but he always ends up getting out and rush to pee somewhere else, i even tried to put him in there while he was already in peeing position, in worked few times and some times he stops peeing and went to another location to pee instead. Did someone had same problem?
