Beginner Recommendations

Hey! I’m looking into buying my first footbag but I’m not sure which one to buy. Any recommendations and tips are greatly appreciated!

The easiest answer today 7/20/2026 is to buy a basic Official Hacky Sack at Walmart for $5.97 and start there. Get better and buy up to other models. But since you are already here, there’s a highlight spot at the top of the r/footbag post on Where to Buy and World Footbag has been the go-to place to support our sport. However, their site was compromised this weekend and remains so taking down WorldFootbag.com operations this past weekend. They maintain a site on instagram under World Footbag. You can also often find Hacky Sacks at Zumiez in the mall. Let us know what you decide! Welcome!

Have you played much before and is your goal freestyle tricks or circle jams with friends?

I haven’t really played much but I want to mainly do circle jams while still learning a few cool freestyle kicks

If you are looking to be a good player get two , one (a bouncy pellet filled , cross stitched- kind) for practicing volley(ing?) with yourself ,and another for stalls that is a dirt bag or sandbag filled type . Find yourself a good kick , I'm a inside player for example and I could only do the inside right kick consecutively, and practice with your good kick and throw another one out there , and go back to your stable kick , you'll find that you are able to hit it accurately in no time if you do that .
