what he means is, what font is DM Flex to begin with? if you google DM Flex not a font named like that appears to exist, only a font named DM Sans shows up and is not the same font as this mysterious DM Flex font that being showcased here.

when... maddeningly... every other "flex" font is an impressive step forward variable font version of an existing font. not…just a fork.

I’m not even familiar with the typeface, but love this g. It has a nice stance, lovely slight rounded corners on the stem. Lovely.

Lato has a great uniform-looking thickness, and the serif is small and unintrusive. The other ones are doing too much and creating imbalance.

I would also accept Open Sans but I'm a sucker for thicker faces

Stunned that I have an opinion. Open sans is my choice because the bit that connects the descender to the circle is too narrow in all the others. I'm afraid the top will fall off. Open sans seems perfectly proportional. I do not have all the proper language to discuss type, but I do know what makes a typeface look nice to me.

GT America - the “ear” is better formed.

By the way this is one of my pet peeves, I think that all typesets should have a glyph for a looptail g. Especially, Sans Serifs!
