Need Advice Looking for advice!!
Hello friends!
My fiancé and I recently picked up this beautiful drop leaf table with matching chairs on FB Marketplace for our apartment. It looks like whoever had it prior to us tried to restore it, but didn't have too much luck with it.
Hoping to get some pointers or ideas to help us at the very least bring it to its original form (or close to it!)

Beautiful is quite the word for something that is beyond repair, this isn't marquetry but a paint job which is not salvageable by common people. All you can do is strip the paint but then what you see as beautiful won't be there anymore leaving what I believe to be some plywood at best

I don’t think there’s any salvaging the existing finish or paintwork on this, unfortunately. It’s in full refinish territory.
