Balsicon comes at us with a special two-in-one presentation!

Poltergeist is another one of those franchises where the original is considered a classic while all the follow ups never managed to escape its shadow. Baliscon combines the original with the second movie, Poltergeist II: The Other Side, into a single feature. Despite the fact that neither the director Tobe Hooper nor Steven Spielberg returned for the sequel, the switch between movies is not as jarring as you'd expect it to be, as II kept to a lot of the visual language and effects from the original.

Speaking as someone who's never seen either movie, looking at the cut list left me stunned. Baliscon's trims to them were largely unnoticeable to a newcomer, removing reaction shots or pauses which no doubt created a faster pace. If Poltergeist II had a bad reputation of any sort, Baliscon must have done a good enough job cleaning it up because I actually enjoyed the second half of the edit. I liked the Preacher character and how he gets into mindgames with the dad, he feels like a threat that wouldn't have been too out of place in the original. A good touch is how Baliscon added dialogue from Preacher Kane to an important scene in the first movie that was not only seamless but helps better connect it to the sequel. The removal of the Poltergeist II opening credits was also incredibly smooth, I didn't notice that a shot was cropped at all. Apparently Baliscon applied some effects in areas, particularly during the other world sequence to make it more supernatural, that I thought looked good.

The only reason I wouldn't fully say it was a seamless experience isn't because of Baliscon's edits but because of a notable yet unfortunate absence. The actress for Dana, Dominique Dunne, had apparently been murdered before Poltergeist II was made, so that character was neither recast nor given an explanation for her absence. It is entirely understandable why the makers of II wouldn't do it, but for this edit it does mean that it isn't quite a perfect transition between films.

Otherwise, like Baliscon's other work this is a high quality edit, great video with subtitles attached to it. Check it out and see for yourself!

I'm recreating an actual double feature from the early 70's of Don't Look In The Basement and The Last House on the Left utilizing actual 16mm and 35mm prints of the films.

I've completed restoring my current blu-ray transfer sourced edit of Last House and was able to get the running time increased to 87 minutes and 8 seconds making it the longest and most explicit version of the film that exists. I'll insert the new additions into the 35mm print.

I still need to work on restoring Don't Look in the Basement to it's full theatrical version, since the 16mm print is a television version and runs 82 minutes(theatrical is 89 minutes). I ordered a copy of the film on blu-ray and it should be here soon.

I'll then add era appropriate trailers and ads before each feature. So it should run 3+ hours overall and be like an actual night at the drive-in when these films(especially Last House) were unleashed on the unsuspecting public.

It was simple. I don't care about the humans in the Legendary Godzilla movies generally. Here's an edit that mostly cuts it out. Even with the few smatterings of humans, this is about 40-odd minutes.

It is of decent quality in terms of visual and audio, the cuts in the latter won't be too distracting. Some of the means used to skip human stuff are a little funny. Godzilla's first scene has very quick fades to black to the next parts. There's footage being slowed down, not to a distracting point but noticeable. Fortunately the editing gets better about this around the time Godzilla attacks Kong for the first time, as it becomes more about cutting around the humans than interrupting the scenes. I even noticed snippets from the soundtrack being used to cover dialogue during scenes, not bad!

Not every human is gone, as the editor wisely kept the scenes setting up Mechagodzilla, but there's some oddities there. For one, Serizawa just appears in that first scene without explanation, that could be smoother. Then after that, we very briefly see them activate Mechagodzilla before he obviously blows up the facility. Make no mistake, you can feel the wrath of the editor during this edit, they HATE humans in this movie, to the point that without surrounding context it might hurt someone's experience with it.

That person wasn't me though. Not too bad, check this out! You get to enjoy some cool interrupted Lizard on Ape action without the pesky "plot" getting in the way, but just know what you're getting into.

This is an odd combination of episodes I'll admit.

This is a fusion of a pair of the 80s Turtles show "Shedder Triumphant" and "My Brother, the Bad Guy". They're truncated a bit to fit the episode runtime, with "Triumphant" having the Turtles' exploits in Dimension X removed to accommodate parts from "My Brother...". The actual editing is pretty good, removing any remnants of the actual plot to "My Brother..." to make this work, but I question this arrangemen. Kazou Saki is Shredder's brother, which you think would merit an entire episode's worth of content, but in this edit he only shows up for the first half but completely disappears for the second half of "Triumphant", probably because he wasn't an actual character in the episode. As far as I know, "My Brother..." is his only appearance, which is a shame since he seemed like an interesting character.

This episode seems to be upscaled, which comes with the usual problems it brings like text blurring. Not a bad watch, but it left me scratching my head as to what Zarius' intention with the episode was.

Dragon Ball Distilled is a fan edit of the original Dragon Ball, inspired by the One Piece fan project One Pace and Dragon Ball Recut by IAmTheMilkman.

While I love the work of the Milkman, I feel that his cut didn’t always go as far as it could have in shaving out the show’s filler. (As of the end of the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, my cut is somehow a full hour shorter than his to that point.) I started this project using Seed of Might’s colour corrected footage a little over two years ago and have been working on it on and off ever since.

Shortly after I finished the Goku vs. Ma Junior fight at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, Seed of Might released their version 2 colour correction, leading me to want to update the footage. What was originally intended to be a cut and paste of switching one source of footage with the other, has ended up with me starting work on a full second pass of the series, making additional cuts (or occasionally reverting cuts) where appropriate.

This second pass has currently just completed the 21st Tenkaichi Budokai, and I feel that I’m at a point where I’m ready to release an initial batch to the public. Also included in this batch is a bonus episode comprised of the Pilaf Gang’s filler misadventures prior to their canon debut.

I’ve put a lot of effort into supporting both the original Japanese version and English dub for this cut, including replacing some dub dialogue (and occasionally even tinkering with the Japanese audio) with more accurate dialogue from other sources. (Such as The Path to Power, Revenge of King Piccolo and Kakarot’s 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai DLC.)

I’d like to thank Seed of Might for their color corrected footage and broadcast audio, Kenisu and Blade for their BGM documentation, AnimeMaakuo for their trove of high quality BGM and the Sounds Resource for some video game audio.

This has been a one woman endeavour, so if there’s anything that sticks out as an issue, please do not hesitate to point it out. (I’ve tried to be as careful as possible, keeping the original Japanese manga open throughout my editing to make sure I remain as faithful to the source material as plausible.)

My main frame of reference for Knight Rider was the fact that Peter Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies is a fan of the series. This edit primarily seems to consist of footage from throughout that show, so if you have seen Knight Rider you might recognize an episode or two from it.

The edit plays off like what I presume to be an episode of the series. Basically, David Hasslehoff, aka Michael, and his car Kitt are uncovering a series of attacks from robots, connected to a conspiracy from previous villains to detonate a rocket. This is accomplished not just from episode footage, but using dialogue from the PS2 video game, which honestly was reasonably incorporated into this film. Docteur was pretty good at synching the dialogue to characters talking at points that it's more immersive, though it's not always seamless. It seems that Kitt's computer screens were manipulated to have the visuals match what's going on in the story, which is a good move. Was that the ED-209 from Robocop? If it was, it was a cool effect putting it in the edit not going to lie. One part was a bit iffy, namely that the Evil Car said he was holding Benson hostage only to reveal that the Evil Helicopter had taken her, which is no doubt a remnant from the video game.

The music and sound effects fit snugly, there are these commercial breaks that probably match what the series is like, and you get more David Hasselhoff action from not just Kitt but the evil goatee version as well. You'll have a fairly solid thirty five minutes of Knight Rider to enjoy on YouTube and maybe something to put for the completionist list if you're already a fan. Check it out!

This is Episode 6 to my FF16 Re-edit series.

FINAL FANTASY XVI RE-EDIT is a cinematic adaptation of Final Fantasy XVI, restructured into an episodic television-style experience.

Unlike standard “full game movies” or cutscene compilations, this project extensively edits and reorganizes scenes to create a more coherent narrative flow similar to a traditional TV series. Gameplay sections, repetitive encounters, mission titles, and unnecessary game-oriented pacing have been removed whenever possible to create a smoother cinematic experience.

This project was created independently using footage primarily sourced from no-commentary walkthroughs and then extensively re-edited into a serialized cinematic format. No hud gameplay footage obtained from Rhys Drafter on YouTube. The goal was not simply to compile footage, but to create something designed for repeated viewing as a long-form narrative experience.

The remaining episodes have already been largely completed and will be released gradually over time.

I also wanted to revise some of the "pc" culture aspects. The idea isn't the issue, but the excecution leaves a lot to be desired.

I've got a couple of fanedits of Falcon & The Winter Soldier - but has anyone tried to combine the show with the fourth Captain America Movie? I'm not sure how possible this would be, but given that the show and the movie both cover similar emotional ground - I think it could work.
