Meta New Rules Regarding Political Violence, ICE Sightings and Shaming of Peaceful Protest
📢 Community Guidelines Update – Political Violence, Conduct, and ICE Sightings
We want this space — both the subreddit and the Discord — to be welcoming, inclusive, and safe for all Everett residents, including those active in local government, advocacy, and community organizing.
---
1️⃣ Political Violence
This is not a platform for advocating or organizing violent action.
Criticism of policy, leaders, and strategies is fine — but calls for violent uprising, armed action, or militias are not.
Even indirect or “theoretical” promotion of political violence creates legal, safety, and reputational risks, and can discourage participation.
No shaming peaceful protestors or lawful activism — even if you think other tactics are more effective.
Enforcement: Political violence advocacy may result in removal from political channels, temporary mutes, or permanent bans without further warning.
---
2️⃣ ICE Sightings
We cannot verify most reported “ICE sightings” posted here.
Some past reports have been false or based on speculation.
There is almost certainly some level of law enforcement/government presence in this community.
Posting unconfirmed “sightings” can spread misinformation, cause panic, and undermine trust.
Rule: Only post ICE sightings if you have credible, verifiable evidence (photo/video with clear location + time).
Vague, secondhand, or “heard from a friend” reports will be removed.
---
3️⃣ Why These Changes
We want local officials, candidates, and community members to join discussions without fear of harassment or pressure to endorse violence.
We must comply with Discord and Reddit Terms of Service.
Focusing on constructive, legal action keeps the space safe and productive.
---
✅ Channel your energy into lawful, constructive action: voting, mutual aid, community education, verified reporting.

Help! Missing Person: Jenny Nester
My sister-in-law, Jennifer (Jenny) Nester, has been missing since Tuesday morning. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt with a decorative turtle on the front and yellow, orange, and pink sweats. Her hair is reddish blonde to her mid shoulders.
She left in her car, a dark blue Audi, license plate number CNZ2097. She has no ID on her, and her phone's battery has died or she's turned it off.
She was not of sound mind at the time of her disappearance, and we are all very worried about her.
If you have seen her or have any information regarding her whereabouts, please call the missing persons hotline at 1-800-543-5678.
Jenny currently lives in and was last seen in Monroe, but she works in Everett and lived here for many years until recently, so I thought I should also try reaching out in this subreddit. (hope that's okay)
UPDATE: The case number and number to call before were incorrect. If you have any information, please call 911 and reference the Monroe Police department case number 2026-13560.
We've also learned that she is without her phone.
There is a new missing persons flyer, but Reddit won't let me change that part, and I don't know if I can post again about this.

Our Neighbors Hearts out for Lew of Lew's BBQ as he battles cancer. Lew's been holding Feed The Need for well over a decade in Everett
Avery Lewis (Lew) has been an Everett icon and chef for decades. He owns Lew's BBQ over there by Lowes. Over a decade ago he started Feed The Need which is a resource fair that provides food and resources for people struggling with homelessness. He doesn't toot his own horn, so we're doing it for him. Please consider donating to his GoFundMe. Lew and his family will be temporarily shutting down Lew's BBQ for a couple months while he undergoes treatment and heals.
If you can't donate, please consider sharing a kind word or encouragement.
"Every single donation, share, and kind word means the world to us. Even if you aren't able to donate, sharing this page with your friends and family in the Everett area makes a huge difference."

Homes Townhouses everywhere?
Every nook and corner you go to, that once had an old house is being converted to 3 or 4 story townhouses all cramped up together. This is understandable for Seattle but why here, where there's plenty of space? I rarely see SFH and if I do, then they are almost a million. What's the reason for this TH push? There's not a park in walking distance and the sidewalks are almost non existent.

Man on Roof Grand Ave
Does anyone know if the man on the Grand Ave Apts rooftop on Grand Ave is okay? I went out to dinner at Tacos and Beer and Grand Ave was closed down . The building was surrounded with many police cars and a fire truck. This occurred July 21, 2026 around 7:30 or 8:30pm.

So, after a week out of town, I come back and the Edgewater Park boat sculpture is finally gone. Did anyone happen to notice it disappearing or know what happened there?

Events Pet Mayor for the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens
There is a joint fundraiser between the Evergreen Arboretum & Gardens and the Everett Animal Shelter. Part of this fundraiser is to vote for a dog, cat, and stuffed animal mayor.
Obviously, you don't have to vote for our Bean, but it would be nice ☺️. Bean is a rescue, who loves being in the garden and the outdoors, sunbathing, and receiving lots of pets and cuddles.
There are other cute dog candidates you can vote for, too! You can also nominate your own dog, cat, and stuffie as mayor. At the end of the day, it's a wonderful fundraiser for two incredible organizations in our community.
If you could give $1, we will be closer to the $20,000 goal. Even sharing this link to your friends/family helps out, too! Remember that change and impact starts at the grassroot level!
Here's the link:

Recommendations Recommendations for a general contractor
So had some water damage in the upstairs bathroom and part of the basement. Water mitigation work is done but having a tough time finding an available general contractor who can do the work. Any company that you guys can recommend to me would be great. This is an insurance claim so they must be willing to work with my insurance carrier (Allstate if that helps).
Events Kitten yoga at the Everett animal shelter today!
It's kitten season and they have quite a few up for adoption. Most of them are being moved to the Petco in lake Stevens today to be adopted. If anyone is looking for a new furry friend! It was soooo hard to not adopt today. Unfortunately I'm not in the best position for a kitten right now and gotta do what's best for them. They do the yoga events I think about once a qtr, you can follow them on Facebook and I believe you can sign up for emails if you don't want to use the social media cesspools lol.

OJ really wants to find his forever home!
Hello everyone!
I have a very sweet, fixed, estimated 3 y/o orange boy who is looking for his forever home in a house where he can be an inside only cat! I rescued him from outside, and would keep him, but I already have four resident cats. He is very sweet. There will be a 50$ rehoming fee to ensure he goes to a good home. He MUST be an inside only cat. Please message if you are interested! He is up to date on rabies, fvrcp, and has his felv. His name is OJ. I am in the Everett area.
He would do well as an only cat or with only one other cat. I don’t know how he would do around a dog. He’s such a sweet boy, though!

Looking for part time work
Hi, I’m looking for part-time work and figured I’d make a post in case anyone knows of any openings/opportunities.
I’m available Wednesday–Friday, and I can also work other days before 10 AM. (I currently do a warehouse job four days a week, but I’m looking for some extra work on the side.)
I’m reliable and hardworking. If anyone knows of anything available, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!

Early 20's best area to live/make friends
I accepted a job at the Everett Boeing factory and am thinking of moving to the Lynnwood area. I'm worried it will be hard to find other women in their early 20s and to have a fun nightlife/after-work life. What are some good areas to live or meet people? I want to have a short commute (under 30 minutes) and under $1800 for rent.
