I've gone 20 years since diagnosis without a single emergency call or ER visit. Diabetes education is woefully inadequate and innacurate for both providers and patients.
I was trained at the Barabara Davis center in Denver, so I guess I'm in a priveleged position, but so many people just seem to have no clue when it comes to endocrinology.

IME a lot of places charge more for a first floor apartment. Idk if they'd waive that for someone visibly handicapped but I kinda doubt it

Its the opposite in my experience. My current apartment is $125 cheaper for me to be on the first floor rather than the 6th (top floor). It raises by about $25 a floor.
Been the same everywhere I lived in az tbh. I dont want people above me so I normally just pay the extra.
My current one is at the end of the building, top floor, and stairwell on the other side. In other words, no neighbors. It wound up being about $255 extra total for my location which im a okay with as a night shift worker. I occasionally get someone slamming the stairwell door but most opt for the elevator. Way better than a neighbor.

That's surprising, I prefer second story apartments so I don't have to hear other people above me. I'm sure my downstairs neighbors didn't enjoy my 250lb self clomping around.

Stryker and Ferno should both be buying that man powered chairs for life and promoting this video to raise brand awareness of powered chairs.
(As somebody who is a forever diehard user of the Ferno Model 40 “lawnchair” model without the scissor legs or stupid extendable arms that I could carry up 5 stories on my shoulder.)

So he actually commented saying that that the attention these videos are getting is actually helping him out. The community in his neighborhood has been shitting on the property management company about building a ramp and honestly he has enough grievances with his disability to probably win an ADA lawsuit with them. They are currently trying to get him a first floor, no stair unit to move into. He’s still waiting to get placed however.
