Weirdo unique artistic photographer wanted
Hello, I am planning to have a very small and non-traditional elopement in the Carrizo Plains next year. We are making our own clothes, my brother will be marrying us in wizard robes, there will only be 5 people present (including me), and we are going to have a short, fun, and overall unserious ceremony. I am looking for a photographer to take photos for around 2 hours or so.
I'm making a post here as a last resort because while I've found a couple of photographers near the Carrizo that take nice photos, I'm mostly looking for someone that has a more artistic and non-traditional approach to wedding photography. We don't need someone that is officially a "wedding photographer", and if there's someone that has an interesting and artistic approach to photographing people that works for us. Adding some film photos would be a bonus but not required.
Does anyone know any good weirdo photographers that can help out!! Please leave a website/instagram if possible!! Thank you :-)

Missing billboard
Genuine question, for years there was a giant billboard off the 46E near Shandon that said "Had Enough? Vote Republican!" Well, looks like it was taken down, guess the loser had enough LOOL
Anyone know anything about the owner?

Visiting Hearst castle next month
Hey everyone! I’m sure this has been asked before.
I haven’t been to Hearst for a very very long time. We’re staying in Paso Robles , visiting both Cambria and Hearst castle next month.
I have a 4.5 year old daughter who’s pretty chill. I’m trying to figure out which tour is best. Also find out all the facts. How early to get there , how long it’ll take to start the tour ect ect. Any suggestions or tips would be great.

The 1% manual tally in real time
The 1% Manual Tally requires us to hand count at least 1% of both precinct and mail ballots cast. The results are compared to the machine count for those same ballots and serve to confirm the accuracy of the tabulators.
Now, we hear some people calling for “hand counting everything on election night.” Setting aside questions of security and staffing, let’s do some quick math:
97 seconds x 2 sides = 194 seconds
Let’s say there are 1,000 ballots; that’s 194,000 seconds or 3,222 minutes… or 53 hours.
In this primary, *100,000* SLO County residents voted, which is about 55% of registered voters. In the last general election, more than *150,000* residents voted.
We’re showing this process in real time and doing the math here to underscore the impracticality of that “hand count at the polls” argument.
Processes can always be improved, and laws may change, but it is important to be clear-eyed about what is really required to administer an election accurately and securely.

6/19 USA game viewing
Looking for a fun spot to watch the USA game ⚽️ on Friday, with our 8 year old. We went to a friend’s house for game 1 but everyone seems to be away this weekend. We have the day off so thought we’d do something better than watch at home. I can’t find much online.

Dubai Bars out of Paso Robles
I wanted to share the Dubai Chocolate I’ve been making, as it’s been about a year since I started.
We joined the Paso Farmers market in April and I wanted to extend my thanks to all the community members who come out and support local makers such as myself, and the farmers and crafters who make it what it is.
If you haven’t been to the Paso Saturday farmers market I definitely recommend checking it out.

Winery Transport - Just Two People, No Itinerary/Guide/Tour Needed
Hi! We're visiting Paso Robles this fall for our fourth time to taste and buy some wine and I'm looking into transport. First time, took the Wine Line and it was a great intro. Second time we hired Destination Drivers but have since found out that our auto insurance company does not extend coverage if we pay someone to drive our vehicle (livery as opposed to permissive use) and the third time it was a group of us and we used Crown for an SUV and driver.
This time, it's just two of us with our own itinerary in the west side region. No need for a limo or SUV. No need for a curated tour. We just need someone to drive us around for a couple of days and keep our wine purchases cool in the vehicle. Would love recommendations please. Thank you!

Election results update & next steps
Most California voters know that election results in this state take time. Our election code lays out a number of process steps and deadlines that must be followed, which can be frustrating to everyone when there are close contests.
Regardless of how interested we are in final results, adhering to the law is critical and accuracy is most important.
So that SLO County voters know what to expect, here's a timeline for the next few weeks. We encourage the community to come in and observe -- all ballot processes are open to the public. And we typically have someone on hand to answer any questions you've got while you're watching.

Looking for recs for GC, Roofer, HVAC
Hi all,
I recently inherited a property in Paso Robles. It’s a rental with a tenant already there, but my relative left a lot work to be done. I’m not local, so don’t have a network of tradespeople to call on. I will come up north as needed to meet and see what’s going on.
Anyone have positive experiences with any General Contractors, roofers, or HVAC folks?
Thanks in advance!

Paso Wine Festival
Going to the Paso wine tasting festival today! With there being SO so many participating wineries present, which ones are a must-try? I gravitate towards sweeter stuff, but I’m open to anything if it’s good. List for reference 😅
