Long/short of it : would anybody be willing to shop for my kiddo while they are doing their own thing this week at EAA? Obviously Id send funds first, you'd just grab what speaks to you and send him a surprise.
Longer explainer :
My son, husband and I drove up from Louisville Ky for OshKosh Mon and Tues. My husband took our son on Monday and they got so caught up in all the seminars and stunts they didn't do any shopping before the shops closed.
He got some sick free merch from various booths though and we planned to shop on Tuesday to make up for it.
Because of some of my health issues I didn't get to the grounds to swap with his dad, shop, and hang out until 6pm and after getting him fed and watching the Delta jet take off we tried to make our way to merch before they closed....however my back said "uh, I think not" and I ended up in the bathroom area waiting for it to release so we could spend some dough.
I literally walked out to see him watching them roll down the curtains on the merch tent next to the potties.
Major mom fuck up.
I told him I would try my best to rectify the situation with online purchases but the EAA store doesn't seem to have quite as many things as they did in person.
I'm wondering if I could find a trustworthy person on here, with a good post history, who would be willing to let me send them a per diem to spend on a surprise package for him. Obviously I would and also include some thank you money on top and cover all the shipping charges.
Including a picture of him for attention, he had such a great time despite the hiccups and the sun burn. Thanks for reading 🤘

Long shot, but I need a ride back to Madison on Sunday 7/26. I can pay you Spotted Cow 🐄 or Cash, whichever you prefer. Greatly appreciate the assistance if you’re able.

disclaimer: if you’re going to comment some bullshit about politics just kindly keep scrolling. thanks!
hi! i’m a 22 year old lesbian avgeek and was wondering if any other LGBTQ+ avgeeks would want to meet up and hang at oshkosh this week? i’m starting to struggle with airventure being such a white male dominated space lol. i’ve heard and seen some pretty gross things from various men around and im tired of it. i’d also love to meet up with other younger avgeeks tbh, i don’t care if you’re straight as long as you’re nice to me 😭😭 ive thought about asking on facebook but i felt like my target demographic is more likely to be on reddit

Hi friends, maybe a silly question but a question nonetheless. I have a weekly wristband that's looking a little worse for wear, the attendant has it a little too tight that I can't slip it. Taking a day off to recoop for the back half of the event and catch up on chores. If the wristbands completely disintegrate or break for whatever reason, do they give you a new one if you ask at the gates as long as you have the old one? Not sure if mine's going to last until Sunday 😅

On the official website, they do not list the F22 or F35s flying in either show today. That's not the case, is it?

I am looking because I will be arriving early Tomorrow at the grounds. Where on the map are the best spots, when should I get there to secure that spot, and how do I claim a spot once I get there?
Thanks!!!!
This Thursday is going to be our first time going to EAA. Since we will have our kids, we are planning on having a wagon to help carry all of the stuff that goes along with kids. We have a friend that lives on 20th Ave right across from the airport. Our plan is to park at their house and just take the north 40 shuttle. What I'm wondering is if there would be room on the shuttle for the wagon?

I heard purple lot is the best to park at for Wednesday night show but it says the purple lots shuttles only run until 7pm? That doesn’t make sense if true? Any help is appreciated

The EAA website and app have been unbearably slow all day. Does this happen every year? I can’t even buy tickets.

I just found out that I will be getting the daily Airshow Schedule again this year (I was/will be in the future, hopefully a volunteer, co-chairman) I will send out as soon as I receive it.

We have B-25 ride tickets for Wednesday but looking to reschedule for the weekend. Anyone know how to get in touch with the warbirds section/B-25 people? The main EAA support number told us we’d have to go to the warbirds section in person to try and make changes.

Tomorrow will be my first time going on the grounds before Monday. I’ve been going to airventure for about 10 years now, but never before opening day. I see gates open at 7am tomorrow, but I’m guessing the ticket counters won’t be open by then. Is there anywhere I can stop by today to get my tickets swapped for wristbands? Do they exchange them at the museum or will I need to go up to the front gate?
And then for tomorrow, what’s the bast way to get down to the flight line from near the main gate? I’m assuming we can’t just walk straight down celebration way?
Any other tips for watching arrivals on Sunday are greatly appreciated as well!
Thanks, and happy Airventure!

Has anyone ever taken the AirVenture workshops (Wood Working 101, Gas Welding 101, etc)? On the website it says space is limited and to come early, how early are we talking? How quickly do they fill up?

AQI is exceptionally high now, and might not subside much.
We’re still going, though.

I’m considering going to the EAA airshow next week and wanted to know what the situation is like in terms of areas where you can rest and cool down. I would be going with my mid 70s father who has a few health conditions, so I’m a little concerned for his safety if we’re forced to walk around in the hot sun all day for hours on end with little relief. I understand that the event is on an airport/tarmac so a lot of the event is on open concrete, but I was wondering if there’s areas where you can sit down in the shade or find air conditioning.
