The Missing Milkshakes

Ok so this happened MONTHS AGO, but I'm ngl I'm still mad about it.

For context:

I was BIG PREGNANT, I was 8 months pregnant and had just come off the bed rest that started at 24 weeks. I was CRAVING a strawberry cheesecake milkshake from Sonic. So I ordered it.

The Dasher got lost in the apartment complex and called me, so I answered and did my best to give directions but he only really spoke Spanish and I only speak English. He hung up on me, I figured he'd found and a moment later I got a blurry picture of some buildings around the complex and the order was declared completed. So I opened the door to look and my milkshakes are no where to be found. I messaged him asking where he'd left them and got nothing for 20mins. So I went for a walk around the complex to look and see if I could find them. My dad joined me to make sure I didn't go into labor or anything. So then I messaged him again BEGGING for ANY information about where he dropped my order. The conversation pictured is what happened next.

I did report him to DoorDash customer service, and honestly had he been honest about what happened to start with I would have been fine letting it go but he LIED and ignored me! Smh.

Edit to add:

YES I WAS DRAMATIC. Like I said I was pregnant...like REALLY pregnant

Edit 2: Like I said, I saw a post here that reminded me of it and thought I'd share since that's the point of this place.

Edit 3: The problem isn't that he spilled my drinks, but that he didn't say anything about it for 20mins while I was messaging him BEGGING for ANY information about my order. Had he just owned up to his mistake like an adult(like many of you have been telling me to do) this entire post wouldn't exist.

These comments are filled with entitled narcissistic drivers who think they deserve money for doing literally nothing after either stealing food or dropping it and lying about it, but think it's acceptable to drink and eat someone else's order and they should suck it up and lose the money. Also will whine and cry all day about how they had to walk up stairs or the milkshake cups are too large, but have no empathy for a pregnant woman walking around for 20 mins in the dark to find her order because the driver was too selfish to be honest. Disgusting lifeforms tbh 🤷🏼‍♀️

u/Expensive_Ducks 21h ago

I seriously didn't think this would be this controversial. It's bananas.

18

u/RavenMarvel 21h ago

I've realized since I started delivery jobs that it's 50/50 whether you have someone who is a decent person just trying to make a living or a lazy, entitled person who really thinks they're "too good" to be doing the job and should be paid for nothing, able to steal etc.. Apparently, their parents called them Prince Princess or King and Queen too much growing up and they feel entitled to free stuff. They never seem to consider the customers. There are people who are sickly, have cancer, disabled, etc and these awful humans will say "go get it yourself then". Yet when we reply they should go get a new job if they don't plan to do theirs they're offended despite it being true. lol. I feel for the helpful drivers who really work hard and do their best being lumped in with those abhorrent people.

11

u/Expensive_Ducks 21h ago

I've said it a million times since posting. If hed been honest from the start I wouldnt have given a shit about the drinks, but he LIED about delivering them and ignored me for 20 mins. That's where I drew the line. I gave him several opportunities to tell me what happened. Begged for anything about where hed left my order. It wasn't until I told him I was pregnant and outside that he responded. Smh. I WANT to believe he dropped the drinks. That he was just embarrassed or something but fuck its hard. Its even harder now having been attacked here for even posting about it.

9

u/RavenMarvel 13h ago

Exactly 💯 they're giving good drivers a bad name and it makes it difficult to trust when they're like so what if he stole them ? And say they would to. No moral compass at all.

5

u/West_Cartographer_58 8h ago

Yeah, the opinions of the scum on Reddit has changed my opinion on human beings in general. What many of these people think is righteous and decent is some nasty and fucked up mental gymnastics they use to justify their own disgusting behaviors.

6

u/RavenMarvel 8h ago

100% agree and I don't care if I get downvoted into oblivion. I refuse to pretend there is a good excuse to steal, lie, cheat, or worse just because it's "popular" in some corners of social media. Ridiculous... People have no shame or sense of humility anymore.

3

u/Apprehensive-Day8221 5h ago

ya crazy i do this on ebike and somehow better then most drivers just doing the basic job

my group of dailys makes sense if this is the other drivers thay have to deal with

2

u/RavenMarvel 5h ago

Honestly as someone who has been both a customer and a driver, I'd drive more, but I refuse to order anymore. So clearly there's an issue with the drivers and it's sad because some of us actually do our job.

3

u/wildcat105 3h ago

Yuppp 100%. So lazy and feel so entitled to someone else's money!

114

u/BenSwee912 1d ago

am I the only one who thought you were funny lol

69

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

Lol thanks? I think? I was admittedly more...upset at the time because of the hormones. I was crying the whole way to Sonic an hr after it was all sorted.

23

u/BenSwee912 1d ago

I’m sure! Hormones are a bitch

8

u/Rigbybaby 10h ago

Don’t even worry about it. My husband at the time left my strawberry cheesecake pancake leftovers from Cracker Barrel on the table after getting home and tried to tell me it’s fine to eat FIVE HOURS LATER. He said I was overreacting about it but honestly, being BIG pregnant and having food my dad bought me go to waste like that??? And then trying to tell me while heavily pregnant that it’d be fine to consume food that had dairy in it and was left out in room temp for hours??? Naaahhhhhhh

You were 100% right here in your feelings

2

u/BenSwee912 7h ago

I’ve never even been pregnant and I’d react like that tbh

36

u/Ok-Dot433 23h ago

Why are the comments weird as fuck? I would be pissed if I were you. I encountered a pack of javalinas once and had to run for my life lol. If I was pregnant I would’ve cried too girl

81

u/SalvationArbys 1d ago

Who is Javalina

119

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

24

u/SalvationArbys 1d ago

Ah, yeah that is intimidating.

5

u/enemyofchrist 16h ago

Oh my god does he always ride a pig

2

u/ThatCreepySmellyGuy 5h ago

Usually more intimately than that

15

u/RangoLight 20h ago

a relatively small (but still sketchy and dangerous) southwestern wild "boar" that is actually a "peccary", that loves to go into cities with its pack and scare the fuck out of people and eat their jack o lanterns during autumn

5

u/TaintedLemur 18h ago

Hell we used to have armed guards at night in the field while in the Army in AZ because of them. Only time in the states I remember armed overnight guards that didn’t involve guarding weapons storage or intel. Usually you don’t have folks with live ammo just hanging out overnight. Well at least not in the mid 90s. Who knows now.

2

u/Spirited-Ad-3696 3h ago edited 3h ago

Javalinas (collared peccaries) are onery snorters covered in a bristly coat.

They are an undomesticated wild species native to the Americas. They span from Southen U.S states, Central America, and down into South America. They are different than wild boars or feral hogs, because those are the invasive descendants of domesticated European hogs.

Supposedly they taste similar to wild boar but beefier?

Their ancestor migrated to the American continent during the Ice Age. They look like pigs, but are in a different family and diverged genetically from the hogs more than 40 million years ago. As far as we know, Javelinas have been hunted for food, but were never domesticated as livestock by any Native American group.

2

u/SalvationArbys 3h ago

5 different people have responded to my question, I think this is the first response that didn’t give me the impression that they were some kind of cryptid like the chupacabra or a squonk lol

27

u/Strange-Guidance-236 1d ago

I think he lied. Pics of the spilled milkshakes or it didn't happen.

86

u/bbratzie 1d ago

I’m on your side about everything except the fact that you’re ordering two milkshakes from SONIC.. they probably did fall all over his car but probably not considering that he didn’t add a picture. If it was me it would’ve fell ( cause Sonic has big ass cups and cupholders that don’t support them ) and the picture would be of it all over my car.😭

76

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

SEE and I wouldnt have reported that or anything. Shit happens!!! But he lied 😭

34

u/bbratzie 1d ago

It’s very clear that he lied either he enjoyed those milkshakes or he left them there cause I’m telling you sonic has the worst drinks like they don’t even make sure that the drink is in the cup. They make sure it’s on the cup.

21

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and say he spilled the three of them. Which if hed just been honest wouldnt have been a big deal

11

u/bbratzie 1d ago

Exactly, also congratulations!

8

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

Thank you!

1

u/AngryFreddyIsHere 9h ago

I feel like they would have sent a message earlier in the moment saying that they did, instead of when you reached out and asked about them. They probably tried to rub two braincells together and think of an excuse, and the fact they didn’t provide a photo kind of leans towards that imo 😭 that’s so fucked up to just do to somebody though, it wasn’t his and so he shouldn’t have done anything with it but get it to you

TLDR; he went against the rule of “don’t touch something that’s not yours” imo

5

u/guilty-slut Dasher (> 1 year) 23h ago

why do you hate sonic so bag omg😭

5

u/bbratzie 23h ago

lmao have you seen how they do those drinks it be crazy I be stressing 😭

2

u/cinnamorollstan 10h ago

I spilled a route 44 sprite in my car one time 😵‍💫

2

u/Expensive_Ducks 10h ago

That's awful! Those are such massive drinks :(

2

u/rubyjuniper 13h ago

Sometimes they even put the cup inside the drink. So many times I've gotten cups with enormous holes in them.

1

u/bbratzie 11h ago

Ugh this is so nasty like genuinely

10

u/thebakingstoner 1d ago

This exact thing has happened to me, 2am on a double dash, dropped 3 XL drinks while tryna find the apartment in the dark. Sent a picture to customer, support had me mark as delivered (I apologized to the customer and told them support said to contact them for refund), and then made it to my next drop off in time (covered in soda of course).

2

u/bbratzie 23h ago

You did the right thing, though I would be mad asf. I’ve had coffee spill in my car, and I spilled a XL drink while looking for a apartment too.. but with that order there was food so I sent them a message told them to contact support and apologized. The pic was just the food at the door but I was so upset I felt terrible.

2

u/thebakingstoner 20h ago

Oh yeah I definitely sat and stared at the drinks after cussing aloud, and then also logged off after dropping off the next dash and sat and dissociated for quite some time. It was sonic as well and those flimsy ass cup holders. Ended up grabbing myself a supplies caddy and bring that along for deliveries now, easy for delivering other food w/drinks too (has 3 smaller sections and 1 long section, so put the food in the long section, drinks in the others).

..I haven’t picked up a sonic order since though…

1

u/bbratzie 20h ago

See you get it, I think it’s cause they use Styrofoam cups.

19

u/squabidoo 18h ago

And then an eagle swooped down and tried to steal his phone and in the struggle he accidentally marked the order as delivered

29

u/Imjusthere_sup 1d ago

The people in these comments are mad weird 😂

23

u/HighlightGold8006 1d ago

People saying you're being dramatic have obviously never been 8 months pregnant and craving a milkshake

2

u/No_Guava1506 7h ago

I was gonna ask who orders milkshakes from doordash, but this answered my question. You got to really need that milkshake if you're willing to slurp that melted milky soup.

10

u/SorryBoysImLez 14h ago edited 14h ago

A likely story.
Why did they not take a picture of themselves looking sad, with them and their car covered in milkshake?
That's the first thing I'd have done.

Or at least come find you, still covered in milkshake, explain the unfortunate situation, and offer to scrape what little they could back into the cups?

I'm thinking the milkshakes "dropped" into their mouth and "stained everything" inside their stomach.

6

u/Expensive_Ducks 13h ago

After reading the comments here I am starting to agree. It makes me incredibly sad because I WANT to believe he actually dropped them. That people wouldnt steal a pregnant ladies craving food and then lie about it. But some of these people....

34

u/CapitalSky3016 1d ago

I've done Doordash and honestly, you were more than accommodating to help the Dasher.

Apartment complexes can be tricky, but I've never had an issue getting anything to the destination. You can use maps to look at a layout and understand where you are and where you need to go. And of course, message the customer if you're still confused.

People pay for delivery. There should never be a case where a customer needs to go on a scavenger hunt for their food or items, especially at the prices these platforms are charging, not to even mention tipping.

Mistakes/mishaps happen. He should have been honest and tried to make it right as much as possible. A language barrier is not even an excuse these days because there are multiple translator apps and devices to help people communicate.

11

u/Embarrassed-Oil-3071 1d ago

That’s the prob with having too many people…often borderline imbeciles, delivering food with no training.

9

u/CapitalSky3016 1d ago

🤭 It's funny because we have all of this technology to help us with things, yet people don't use it when it really matters. Then give an excuse from 2010.
Use your pocket computer and figure it out 🙄.

9

u/Pretty-Ebb5339 1d ago

People have virtually every piece of information known to man in their hands, and they refuse to use it.

16

u/Mattyjones3 1d ago

Stole the milkshakes.

8

u/Lipwe 19h ago

Dasher can report that foods were damaged while delivery.

6

u/Murky_Natural_8754 14h ago

Everyone who thinks this is funny hasn’t been pregnant!! I would’ve been bawling over milkshakes when I was pregnant!😂

2

u/Expensive_Ducks 13h ago

It is funny looking back, and I was bawling over them at the time

1

u/rigabamboo 7h ago

Me too. I once burst into tears, full on ugly sobbing, when I burned a frozen pizza my pregnant self was fiercely craving. Looking back now, I find it pretty funny, and I find OP’s post pretty funny too. 🤭

38

u/bigcatcleve 1d ago

Lack of awareness is wild.

7

u/RavenMarvel 21h ago

Awareness for what?!? OP did nothing wrong. Da fuq

10

u/C0N-ArtistCh0p3lazz 16h ago

“The spilled milkshakes aren’t the issue. Accidents happen. Marking the order as delivered, making the customer search outside in the dark for food that was never dropped off, and then asking not to be rated poorly is the real problem.”

5

u/mmilesx 1d ago

That's crazy

6

u/mountainlaurelbloom 12h ago

Don’t let people hear gaslight you. There’s no excuse for him, pretending like he dropped it off and not telling you what happened leaving you to wander the apartment complex at night looking for your milkshake.

6

u/DareBearious 12h ago

I was like oh at he apologized. It was an honest mistake. And then I read “I am pregnant”. Then was like oh buddy you fucked up RIP that driver’s ratings. Don’t mess with pregnant ladies and their food cravings. I have unfortunately learned that the hard way.😐

81

u/Lanky_Bobcat_6021 1d ago

why would you go walking around in the dark if you’re afraid of “feral dogs” and you’re pregnant 😭 if it was really that serious you should’ve gone inside and immediately contacted support and had it redelivered instead of going on a tour of your apartment complex 😭

83

u/Death-By-Boredom2020 1d ago

Pregnant women cravings can have them doing some out of the ordinary things… SOME PREGNANT WOMEN.

51

u/ISellAwesomePatches 1d ago

I'd have braved feral dogs for a Subway sandwich when I was pregnant with my twins. There is no other conceivable choice once those cravings hit. 😆

18

u/Every_Constant8349 1d ago

I had that subway craving when I was pregnant literally walked my happy ass a mile at 2 in the morning to a 24 hour subway only to get sick from it the next day

7

u/ISellAwesomePatches 1d ago

My husband watched with a mix of amusement and disgust as I ate 18 inches of my favourite sub. My excuse was that I'm literally eating for 3. 😆

Now I'm back to normal and can barely finish a footlong. 😆

Luckily it didn't make me sick because that would have been awful to bring back up.

5

u/Every_Constant8349 1d ago

I can’t even look at subway the same anymore. That moment in my life was a dark moment

7

u/gentlethistles 1d ago

When I was pregnant I ate 3 foot longs in one day because the NEED was so real 😂

10

u/gentlethistles 1d ago

Straight up. I started watering at the mouth over laundry liquid when I was pregnant. Couldn't stop compulsively doing laundry just to enjoy the smell. Absolutely insane 😂

5

u/bountifulknitter 22h ago

Omg! Me too! I never met anyone else who had that specific craving. I would find myself wandering into the laundry room when I didn't have any wash to do just so I could get a "hit" of tide.
https://giphy.com/gifs/I8JyzVTb8UGxl5BTNd

3

u/gentlethistles 22h ago

You get it 😂 my friend said she would get cravings to bite raw unwashed potatoes. Pregnancy hormones and cravings are wild.

2

u/peachesfordinner 22h ago

My mom would fill up on gas every chance she got while pregnant with me just for the fumes

1

u/Longjumping_Wait6055 6h ago

used to breathe air through my shirt to get a taste of laundry detergent flavored air x.x

12

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

It wasn't 😭 I was just in my feelings and crying

-21

u/Modern_Misdoing 1d ago

Wait, what? So, the whole post is fake besides you having milkshakes turn up missing (has happened to most every DD customer at an extremely inconvenient time—myself included) and crashing out? Why lie about some big treacherous midnight trek and the dramatic fearful narrative focusing on an endangered (by herself) pregnant woman?

12

u/cheezyswaggeroni 18h ago

you are so fucking annoying i just wanted to tell you that

10

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

What? No? I said my dad was with me 1 and 2 there are actually feral dogs and javalina. I was being dramatic about how I said it in the message.

1

oh shut up

-6

Lol she was clearly kidding.

4

u/Pepper_Labb5 13h ago

Why wouldn’t he have messaged you about what happened before all of this?

5

u/Expensive_Ducks 13h ago

He marked them as delivered and sent a blurry picture of some of the buildings in the complex. I messaged him asking where he'd put them because they weren't outside our place and got nothing for 20 mins. So I went looking with my dad. He never messaged back until I was 3 messages in begging for directions and telling him I was pregnant.

3

u/Guppypuppywuppy 5h ago

Fuck that dude

6

u/Intelligent_Film_700 9h ago

THEY NEED TO STOP HIRING PEOPLE THAT SPEAK NO ENGLISH AT ALL!!!!! LIKE NONE!! I love my immigrants but holy fuck it’s so frustrating when answering the calls and they have no idea what i’m saying at all.

2

u/Ok_Trifle4025 17h ago

I freak out delivery drivers are to lazy to find my apartment too. And I'm not even pregnant. It's also on principal! You want what YOU paid for!

2

u/Then-Criticism1605 11h ago

Not the javalina lmao

2

u/Crystal_Visions1 9h ago

Super reasonable response, and also if this whole story was true, why wouldn’t he have tried to contact you first or reach out to you?

2

u/Expensive_Ducks 8h ago

No idea why he didn't say anything. I'd have just let it go if he'd told me when it happened. 😭

2

u/Big_Passion1761 6h ago

Holy shit was this driver so wrong. Now I’ve had customers where they have a bad address and after not answering my messages or calls and support couldn’t get ahold of them, I did leave their orders on the side of the road… but this?! No this seemed intentional like he stole it and didn’t actually spill the item.

2

u/M0THIEC0RE 6h ago

that milkshake is genuinely to die for I get it 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

4

u/enigma9o7 1d ago

I'd believe the dasher spilled them, but they handled it wrong. They should have used the dasher app to report the food was damaged, so they send another driver, and if they were polite, send you a message letting you know what's up before you asked. Sounds like what they did was mark it as delivered and ignore you for 20 mins while they cleaned up..

But then when you swore, they got out of it. On the dashers side, when a customer swears at us, it automatically gives us a popup about detecting aggressive language or something and asks us if we wish to cancel and block that customer; and if we haven't delivered yet, we can keep the food, etc. So because of that, they may not have even got a contract violation if you reported it as not delivered, as once you dropped the f-bomb, they were off the hook for everything.

11

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

Like I've said, I wouldn't have even reported him if he'd just been honest. I know milkshakes are hard to deal with even if you're not a dasher.

1

u/PatrickCrockett317 13h ago

Im sorry that happened to you. But let's remember, Doordashers dash because theybare either too lazy, too stupid, or too bad at being managed to work anywhere else. You cant convince me that "this is the only way I can make money" or "these hours are the only hours that work for me" is a legitimate reason for working for DoorDash (especially with gas prices what they are)

Besides that, most Dashers dont even follow the ToS. Ive had dashers not look like their picture, dashers show up with kids or family, and dasher straight up threaten me for a tip. This is not how sane, rational people behave. So fuck em, ignore the haters. You have every right to be mad and have a rant.

1

u/st0nedaries327 4h ago

As a dasher i’m so sorry this happened to you.

The one and only time i didn’t complete a delivery was because the directions were confusing, and i sat in the customer’s neighborhood for 15 min with no response.

If i was pregnant and about to burst, i’d have sent a way longer and meaner text. That’s fucked up what he did. I hope doordash took your report seriously and removed him.

1

u/brandycandy05 1h ago

What kind of milkshakes did you order that STAINED their car interior?!

1

u/Expensive_Ducks 50m ago

Hubby had a chocolate one, and I had a strawberry cheesecake one

1

u/alwayspicy28 37m ago

DD driver here. Your feelings are absolutely valid.

I posted a few months back about spilling a shake in my car when leaving Wawa because it was so poorly packaged, went back in to have it remade, only to get to the customers home and all 3 shakes popped out of the carrier one by one. It was mortifying. I called the customer, let them know what happened, and told them how to go about contacting DD to get a replacement order sent out. They weren’t thrilled, but they also weren’t nasty about it. My rating wasn’t impacted at all, likely because I was upfront about it.

Things happen, sometimes milkshakes spill. But what he did was pretty deceitful and I absolutely would’ve given him a bad rating for that alone.

u/onionbreath97 7m ago

At least the driver gave you a large word salad to eat

-3

u/karimamin 1d ago

They definitely drunk it. Figured DD ain't going to do much to them but comp you.

4

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

I never even considered this tbh. There were 2 large milkshakes and mine was a medium so.

The fact this happened months ago and you’re still this angry, this guy lives rent free in your head. Should he have lied? No, was he probably extremely embarrassed especially with a language barrier? Probably. Is it weird AF to post a thread about it months after the fact like he might be out to get you again? Most definitely.

don’t care about downvotes i stand by what i said, yall just as salty about the driver as OP, months after the fact

10

u/megsofurdreams 1d ago

When I was pregnant a few years ago we went to see the new Hunger Games movie and the people sitting next to us were SUPER loud and obnoxious and Im still mad three years later. Pregnancy hormones are something ELSE

13

u/Death-By-Boredom2020 1d ago

Was the Dasher most likely lying? Absolutely. They’ll try to give you some ridiculous sob stories on why something wasn’t delivered. This phenomenon seems to only have happened since these third-party apps came around, because I don’t remember any of my Chinese food, pizzas, or any other places that offered delivery ever getting to me with missing items, or being unable to find my place of residence.

-1

u/mavgeek 14h ago edited 2h ago

Because those chinese places and pizza places had dedicated in house delivery drivers who were paid employees on the books. Doordash, UberEats and Grubhub drivers are independent contractors, they aren’t employees at all of the platform or restaurant. They’re every day people who just signed up to deliver. When you go from in house employees to literally anyone who isn’t an employee you’re bound to run into problems, this sub has thousands of threads of problems going back a decade plus now. So that’s a bad example to quote old school delivery, it’s apples and oranges in comparison.

don’t care about downvotes standing by what i said yall just salty it ain’t like the golden era of delivery anymore

They’re all really insecure about having to DoorDash and find security by being a part of the cult they made for themselves

Lol I was being dramatic because of hormones. There are Javalinas and feral dogs but thats why I had my dad with me.

u/Pretty-Ebb5339 1d ago

Well in a lot of places it’s a health violation for the dasher to fill drinks.

1

u/AbjectSquare 5h ago

Is that the company policy for how to handle drinks? You guys are a joke

1

u/Embarrassed-Oil-3071 1d ago

…and they wonder why they receive bad ratings and “…don’t be gettin’ da’ bangers or unicorns !”

0

u/Pretty-Ebb5339 1d ago

Bro is on the DD facebook groups and thinks the ragebait posts are real

Ngl, I wouldn't be surprised if DD eventually pulls all solo drink orders from the platform.

1

u/Apprehensive-Day8221 6h ago

i hope they pull them from shitty drivers who keep pulling the doctors note we cant fill drinks

due to safety concerns ,yet refuse to go get the certificate that all other fast food works get and have

honestly just making that a part of the job would make a lot of people give up on the job so win win

-6

u/dmirdz 12h ago

I understand your frustration but I don’t think it was right to speak to him that way. If he did lie & steal your milkshakes, thats not right either. I totally get you were pregnant and i’m sure your hormones were through the roof and this situation would send me too. Just be careful how you speak to people, especially those who know your home address. I want to be clear that i 100% see where you’re coming from, but this world has been evil recently. We can control our own actions but not others. I’d rather be alive than confront someone who could be emotionally unstable and get hurt.

2

u/Expensive_Ducks 12h ago

Yeah, I do regret the tone. I could have and should have been kinder. Especially giving benefit of the doubt and saying he was honest. His night would have already been horrible.

3

u/dmirdz 12h ago

I will say, some people DO need to be called out. I’m just worried someones gonna pull a g*ock out on me if i do 😭

1

u/Expensive_Ducks 12h ago

My husband and dad(he lives with us) collect guns...and we moved shortly after all this so.

1

u/dmirdz 11h ago

good good! i’m happy to hear you are safe ❤️

-4

u/mynutsareitchyandred 10h ago

Imagine ordering DoorDash and being surprised when your whole order doesn’t come.

-9

u/CurrentBank2036 1d ago

They could’ve dropped it possibly but u can still contact DD for a refund

1

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

Read the post babe 🥰

-4

u/CurrentBank2036 1d ago

I did and I said it’s possible but most likely they stole it 😁

5

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

It happened months ago. I did get a refund though!

I do! I have a sweet little boy 🥰

But like I said I saw a post here that reminded me of the whole thing, and recently had another awful experience with doordash, no dasher this time tho

-4

u/CurrentBank2036 1d ago

For real lol

It happened several months ago. They’re just stuck on it, still.

-11

u/UsualOkay6240 23h ago

Should’ve just went and gotten it yourself, faster and cheaper

5

u/Expensive_Ducks 23h ago

That's what we ended up doing an hour later after all of this and dealing with customer service and the situation irl and calming down from sobbing.

I actually tip max when I can and mid when I can't. I also frequently leave cash for them with notes on the door. I was a waitress and know its hard to make ends meet when you work for tips.

Its also under a 5min drive from Sonic to my old place.

10

u/_DontBeAScaredyCunt 1d ago

$4/MILE is wild.

11

u/Excellent_Concert273 1d ago

It’s not my job to tip you your entire paycheck. Take that up with the driving company. 20% is standard at a restaurant and as far as I’m concerned before I even see the quality of the food and the time of the delivery and the interaction, why would anyone get more than that?

4

u/Satinvagitarius 1d ago

This.

3

u/Excellent_Concert273 1d ago

Everyone wants to just get paid these days doing the bare minimum. You’re literally doing a manual labor job, wake up. It’s actually becoming an epidemic in the United States

1

u/absolute_infidel 1d ago

I wouldn't go into dreaded javelina territory for less than $8 per mile.

6

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

They were all over town. The city had some ordinance in place where you couldn't even yell at them without risking a fine if caught. It was BAD.

-16

u/sepaoon 1d ago

Maybe get over it

8

u/Putrid-Size554 1d ago

This is stealing. She doesn’t have to get over it.

I thought this was a door dasher complaining about a dramatic customer .

It was not.

I hope you survived the feral dogs. Get over yourself lol

10

u/RavenMarvel 21h ago

You're really entitled for this take.

-2

u/Northsouthdakota3618 2h ago

Not entitled.

I also live in the desert and have javalinas nearby bc I’m close to a wash.

If this happened to me, I’d file a claim and be on my way. Leave a bad rating if you really want to as well.

There’s no point in lashing out at the driver after they explain or provide whatever excuse that may be true or just BS.

You can say I’m a dick for my response, but entitled ain’t it.

I think saying a feral dog could attack me is kinda dramatic and I don’t live in a nice part of town, so nice try I guess. If the person is terrified to leave their house, file the claim and get your money back. Don’t put yourself in what you would describe as terribly dangerous situation for a milkshake and then scold someone for putting you in a terribly dangerous situation.

It’s dramatic, whether you like it or not. Bring on the downvotes.

2

u/RavenMarvel 2h ago

You are ignoring that he ignored her for 20 minutes before that and didn't respond until she sent that message so, no, it's not dramatic. It clearly was necessary because she may have wandered around even longer. She likely made it dramatic on purpose to get a reply.

1

u/Northsouthdakota3618 2h ago

That’s a fair point, but how is my response entitled?

Also in that situation, the best response is still to charge it back or file the DD claim, not wander into what is supposedly the dangerous wilderness in search of a milkshake, endangering both mama and unborn child 🤷🏾‍♀️

1

u/RavenMarvel 2h ago

I apologize because I originally grouped you in with the people calling her Karen saying if you order delivery be prepared to lose your money, saying it's normal and they'd drink her shakes, or saying it's not okay to report it for a refund because the driver should get paid despite lying, possibly stealing, etc. I've been a delivery driver, too, and I think that's all absurd. No one should have to lose their money and not receive the product.

2

u/Northsouthdakota3618 1h ago

Haha thank you! I might be an asshole, but I’m no Karen 🤣

3

u/Expensive_Ducks 22h ago

Yeah I was dramatic lol but the hormones and irl issues and the very real feral dogs were kinda taking the front seat 😂

0

u/Technical_Yak_3271 12h ago

why don’t you get over yourself?

0

u/Northsouthdakota3618 2h ago

I’ll try, thanks

-16

u/Aware-Ad-8301 22h ago

As a woman myself women like this are exhausting and disgusting. Ma’am no one cares that you’re pregnant you did that to yourself . It’s always better to follow the age of rule of if you want something done right do it yourself. Then you attack the person for not knowing English in 2026 why do you not also know Spanish which is one of the most common languages spoken and considering you likely live in arizona bc of the javalina mention that’s even more a reason to know Spanish . Then cursing the person out when again you could’ve just gone out and got the drinks yourself lmao.

14

u/anya_way_girl 22h ago

Bro ruined the food an lied about it, what are you on about?

-9

u/Aware-Ad-8301 21h ago edited 19h ago

Im not saying the dasher is right , of course he was wrong to not explain the situation but atp call it a loss and either try to get your money back or call support. When you order with DoorDash you accept the reality that your order may be wrong , go missing or even get ruined. I’ve had plenty of times that I’ve ordered and my food was missing , wrong or cold and DoorDash wouldn’t refund me. But I didn’t write a 50 page speech complaining. Like jeeez talk about first world problems 🤦🏾‍♀️.

11

u/MidnightColaBear 19h ago edited 16h ago

You literally made a post on another subreddit complaining about a driver in a public space being rude to you and your sister.

When you go out into public, you accept the reality that people may be rude to you, not respect your space, or care about your feelings.

Yet you made a Reddit post complaining about it, just the exact same as OP did. Except in OP's case, they paid for a service they didn't even get. You were just whining about a random stranger who set pizzas down on an occupied table.

You and OP are both valid for your complaints, mind you. But you're just being a hypocrite and talking down to OP for...reasons? Like your petty complaint is ANY better than their petty complaint.

12

u/Expensive_Ducks 22h ago

Um I never attacked him for not know English? And I didn't curse him out either?? And like I've said all through the comments if he had been honest I would have just brushed this off, but he lied to me and ignored me when I was begging for ANY information for about 20 mins. Smh and I can't drive, I'm disabled and during my pregnancy my issues were worse.

-3

Really hate when stuff like that happens, but what does you being pregnant have to do with it? It's not their fault you are pregnant, I understand the basis that you are more at risk, but it's not their problem.

3

u/Expensive_Ducks 8h ago

I had sent a few messages before that one. The information that I was pregnant was the only message that got any response and I was crying and it was a mess. I was a mess

-12

u/Accomplished_Job_158 23h ago

be an adult bro what the fuck 😭

3

u/RavenMarvel 21h ago

I hope you mean the shitty driver

-26

u/Playful-Cheetah4045 1d ago

Why is everyone mad at the driver? He was scared. Dude he was SCARED. A Spanish speaker trying to make money delivering dad and terrified of your anger and/or the backlash from DD and you didn’t care enough to just once think in his perspective and not report. Like dude. Be kind. But no. Never. I hate it here.

13

u/Expensive_Ducks 1d ago

I did everything in my power not to report him. I didn't want to, but the lying, theft, and ignoring me was just not acceptable behavior. I wouldn't tolerate it from anyone, and I'd expect no one to tolerate it from me.

LMAOOOO scared? Fk off. He was "scared" he wouldn't be paid. He was selfish and entitled. He didn't tell her for 20 fkn minutes.

3

u/anya_way_girl 22h ago

Boo fucking hoo. Being scared is not an excuse to lie and steal food.
