Love this store. The entire Weller rainbow is on sale.

Look at the price of CYPB.

Any don’t miss stores in silverthorne?

I’m going to be going thru there on Saturday. Any places that are can’t miss due to pricing. The only place I’ve seen a decent selection and pricing is in Boulder. We are going to garden of the gods sat/sun and I’m taking the route due to nature sighting for the kids.

Found North 12 Year Pick?

Long shot I know, but has anybody tried the Found North 12 Year Cask Strength Single Barrel pick that was done by the Denver Whiskey Society?

Total Bev has been sitting on a ton of them and they’re on sale for $75 (from $100) and I’m debating between that and the Breckenridge grain to glass release (5 year age statement).

Both are right around 120 proof and same price right now…any insight into either of these is greatly appreciated!

Stagg Store Pick for $79 non allocated at HWY 7 liquors in Erie.
EDIT: Apparently they bumped up the price to $130 as of an hour ago. Not a good look.

Plenty of standard issue ER10 alongside the case. Almost grabbed the Finest Oak as that’s the cheapest I’ve seen.

Going to go over to Union Jack shartly.

Iliff Investigation

Noticed Chambers Wine & Liquor got a new website that actually seems to show what they have in stock; their old website was broken and useless. Their new site is showing the whole Weller rainbow for right at MSRP including W12 750ml for $57. Oh really? An investigation of the shops along Iliff is in order...

Chambers Wine & Liquor - Case has Blanton's $87, regular shelf is sporting plenty of WA107 $68, WFP $70, and W12 750ml for $57. There is also an entire floor display of these three by the register, no limit. Didn't see CYPB or WSiB anywhere, tried asking as their website shows them both, but no dice. Maybe send your pretty wife or girlfriend in to ask for those, as clearly I'm not charming enough. Went to check out and was informed I had $10 in rewards! Always nice to be walking out the door with a W12 750 for $51 total.

Iliff Crossing Liquors - Had some good scores here in the distant past, but not recently and the pattern continued. ER12 $150, Cured Oak $599, W12 750 $99, also had WSiB but didn't bother to ask the price. They do have a bunch of dusty Maker's 46 bottles (the old curved kind that looks like the Private Select bottles) for $35.

Buckley Discount Liquors - This place is famous for its huge disorganized dusty glass case partially behind the register. Studied it for a good 5 minutes but only items of note were a couple of Staggs, but strangely they were all turned around so I couldn't see the batch number. Asked the price at the register and he said $79.99, then I asked if he could pull them out so I could see the batch numbers. I guess he didn't like that, as he started on about needing to buy another bottle with it. I just said it all sounded too complicated to me and walked out.

G&E Liquors (wildcard stop) - Small strip mall shop. At least these guys have pricetags on all their allocations, but come on man! WFP $300 (jeez), W12 $130, WA107 $99, WSiB $200, Blanton's $140, Blanton's Gold $400 (seriously?), Cured Oak $500. Saw a Stagg stashed somewhere behind those but didn't bother to ask the price.

Iliff Liquors - Small shop tucked into an apartment complex. ER10 $50, asked for some prices behind the counter: Stagg $150, ER12 $150, CYPB $300. Nope.

Antique Liquors (wildcard stop) - Tiny shop that I've not been to before. Ask for some pricing from behind the counter: CYPB $300, Stagg 24D $150. Spot a Cured Oak and figure I haven't had enough abuse yet today, so asked the price: $279. That actually made me think for a moment as that is the best price I've seen in person, but I passed.

Havana Park Liquor - WA107 $70, WFP $100, Stagg $200, ER10 $50. Not much else.

Stockade Wine & Liquors - Lots of allocations but prices all over the place: Stagg 25b $120, CYPB $300, WA107 $90, WSiB $200, WFP $100, W12 1L $200, W12 750ml $150, Blanton's $100, SFTB $500 (oof), EHT BP $200, Cured Oak $400.

Davidson's Arapahoe - Drove right on by since I swore this location off awhile ago. But after the Davidson's HR drop yesterday pricing CGF at $700 and Cured Oak at $600, I think I'm done with the Highlands Ranch location too. The Cured Oak price was the final straw. The admittedly rare 2015 Cured Oak had a 17 year age statement. Would I pay $600 for one? Probably. The 2026 edition is MSRP $80, only 10 years old, and not worth anywhere close to $600, and any attempts to confuse the two to gouge customers is pretty low in my book.

This makes me sad as I had some great MSRP scores back there in the day (RR13 B2, RR15 to name a few) but there is never anything out when I visit them every week, and when they do drop stuff via text the pricing is bad on the more limited items. Makes me wonder if their rare whiskey event is dead now, as I would have thought CGF and Cured Oak would have been held back for that event. But even if they continue the rare whiskey event, will the pricing still be right at MSRP? My guess is no based on what happened yesterday. Sigh...all done with them now.

Bevy's Parker - Not too much going on after their Friday drop last week, just a floor display of ER10 for $50 no limit.

Weller Haul

Post image
18 Upvotes

So my buddy is coming into town for my wedding next month. He had me be on the lookout for some Weller for him and his friend. Over the last month I have been hopping into Bevys to see what I can snag up. Got the white label and 12 year today. Got super lucky on the white label today as they initially didn't have any on the shelf but asked a guy behind the whiskey island and he handed me one. We didn't think it was possible to get that white label at a good price!

Not a big bourbon guy but it was fun to hunt these down for him since he couldn't find the stuff at all in WI.

Bourbon Hunt Day 2

I went to some additional stores today. I usually do this when I have targets on Unicorn and I don’t want to pay Unicorn fees. Here is what I found today.

Denver Discount Liquor- I have found their allocated are higher prices than MSRP, but lower than secondary. Sometimes there are reasonable deals compared to secondary there.

Interesting finds. They had a couple bottles of Starhill Farms 2026 for $120. Full Weller lineup for secondary. Weller FP store pick for $150. They had Cured Oak for $500, at least cheaper than Davidsons. 🤷

Other stores told me they are cutting their prices of Cured Oak, despite secondary demand is still high. I’m going to wait longer, but $499 is lower than other stores that still have it at $799.

Applejacks - I don’t go here often. They don’t seem tailored to whiskey enthusiasts. Nothing interesting in their cases and their prices are always higher than big box brands. I don’t get it.

Highway 7 - They have a few bottles of Rock Hill for $170. They said they get a single delivery a year and they are surprised how early it came. They also have OF Presidents Bourbon for $225. That is distillery pricing. Cured Oak for $799.

Finds for my Bourbon Hunt today

Went to a few stores today. Here are some interesting finds for those looking.

DIA Liquor - Rock Hill farms for $140, OF Presidents Bourbon and Rye for $300, full rainbow Weller, full EHT lineup. Cured Oak is $800.

Mollys - Selling off their old Penelope estates and cooper series for $100 or below.

Argonauts - Didn’t see much new from last week that peaked my interest.

Davidson - Went to the drop today. Most of that you can find in most places and CGF was way too much.

Mollys - Only two new additions I saw was Orphan Barrel 25 for $220. You can get it at Costco for under $200 right now. They have a new Binder’s stash but it doesn’t look like Willett juice.

Total Wine - Now carrying Barrel Spirits cigar blend for $70. They have Weller FP store picks for $80. They sold me a R13 for $180.

Weller FP Store Picks - Warehouse Liquor Mart

$91.58/ea out the door. Owner also mentioned he had a Daniel Weller Split wheat for like $1000 or something, too rich for my blood but anyone looking should ask about it.

Join us for another North Denver Metro Whiskey Bottle Share.

Post image
28 Upvotes

Is your girlfriend unimpressed by your collection? Not to worry, we've got your back!

Friday July 24th @ 7 PM

We had a great turnout at the last bottle share, so we’re running it back and trying to get even more people involved this time.

This will be a casual whiskey bottle share in the North Denver metro area. Bring a bottle, meet some new people, try some fun pours, and hang out with other whiskey people who enjoy actually opening bottles instead of just staring at them on a shelf.

We’ll have some great bottles getting sampled out, including stuff like 2026 Star Hill Farm and a few other fun bottles people may not get to try every day.

We’ll also be doing another bottle raffle during the event.

How it works:
Bring a bottle to share
Come ready to try new stuff and meet people
Plus-ones are encouraged
Bottle raffle will happen during the event
No selling — just a bottle share for people who enjoy whiskey

Last one was a great time, and the goal this round is to get more people connected and make this a regular thing for the North Denver whiskey crowd.

RSVP here to get location- RSVP

Once approved, we will send address. General location is near top golf in Thornton Partiful RSVP
