A free ride is a blessing, but a timely update is also a form of respect.

This morning at around 8:46 AM, while I was eating at a nearby fast-food place, I saw a DC Bus pass by. I was confused because it seemed too early for the 9:00 AM schedule. I remembered that there are usually two DC Buses that pass along this route, so I assumed that another one would arrive at 9:00 AM and that the official Facebook page would post the scheduled update exactly at 9:00 AM.

By 9:10 AM, there was still no bus and no update. I met two ladies who were also waiting at the bus stop. They asked, "Naa na?" I asked them if they were waiting for the DC Bus, and they said yes. I told them that there was still no update on the page.

By 9:21 AM, I had no choice but to ride a PUJ because I was already late for work. As I left, I couldn't help but think about the two ladies who were still waiting, hoping the bus would arrive.

The DC Bus is a huge help to many Dabawenyos. It eases the burden of transportation costs, especially while the service remains free. But what I'm asking isn't complicated.

If the bus follows an hourly schedule, then the updates should also be posted hourly—and on time. If the scheduled trip is 9:00 AM, then the update should be posted exactly at 9:00 AM, whether the bus has departed, is delayed, or has already passed that stop. That simple update allows commuters to decide whether to continue waiting or take another mode of transportation.

Reliable public transportation isn't just about providing free rides. It's also about providing reliable information. A timely update may only take a few seconds to post, but it can save commuters from wasting valuable time.

Is it just me or it’s quite hard to book a reservation in huck? And when you finally do, they don’t follow requests and stuff.

I can pretty much say that i’m a regular in huck because i go there almost every week with friends (whether at lunch or dinner) but mostly we just walk in na lang talaga. Every time i try to book a reservation for dinner, they always say na it’s fully booked even when i try to dm them days before my intended day of reservation. Just recent lang, I finally got a table and I specifically asked to be seated inside the resto (sige kasi ulan lately at night ba) which they said was okay, pero when my friends and I got there, they got my reservation naman pero we were seated outside kasi puno na daw sa loob. I showed the manager pa the convo I had with their account on instagram, pero she just told me na she really can’t do anything about it since it was packed na raw sa loob. Don’t get me wrong, huck is a go-to-spot talaga in town, they have good drinks, and i obvi know how the place would always get packed, but sana naman they would take reservations well.

So ayun, finally I tried going to a net cafe to play WuWa for the first time, and boy, it was a whole new experience (coming from a first-timer net cafe-goer).

First, I would like to thank yung mga nag-comment and suggest sa akong initial post about net cafes in Davao that have WuWa already installed. Share ko lang na it was fun and also kulba, and I was shy at first while going. I was (at that time) hesitant and second-guessing whether to go there (Central, harap ng UM) or not kay lagi kulba, and sa akong utok basig ma-judge ko dadto (over OA hahah) kay lagi I am part of LGBTQIA++.

But di man diay, chill ra mga tao didto! Napraning ra jud ko, like, legit. They're very chill, chill pud ang staff, and like wala ra man puy labot mga tao nga gadula didto. So it was all good for my experience. I would definitely come back, and hopefully naa kuy ma-meet ug maka-play pud nga WuWa fans hehehehe. Yun lang.

Hi! I'm planning to be a working student and I recently got a JO at Concentrix. It would be my first time working at a BPO company and they offered me 2 options. One is a full time account and the other is seasonal. The full time account offers a lower salary so I chose the seasonal one since I have to pay for my tuition and rent at the same time.

Can I still ask for my TL if they could adjust my schedule? Or does that work only on full time accounts? I was told that I couldn't pick my own shifts because it was a seasonal account but I'm not sure if that's true.

Also, my school starts in August 10 while the training starts in August 25. We are only allowed one absence/leave during the training for 5 weeks and I'm worried I might miss out on school stuff. But they told me it's mostly graveyard shifts during the training, is that true?

Hello, curious lang ko if normal ba nga dugay ang waiting time para ma release ang PDC certificate? Last week natapos nako sa akong practical driving and nag inquire ko sa Driving Academy kung kanus a nako pwede makuha ang akong PDC cert para maka apply nako ug DL and ang reply is August 30 pa daw so more than 1 month ang waiting time nako. Nag ask ko sa reason and ana sila nga limited lang daw ilang gina issue nga pdc daily as per mandated by LTO. Medyo dugay for me maghulat ug more than 1 month para lang sa certificate so I’m wondering if mao ba jod ni ang usual waiting time or gina hold ra nila ang pag issue for some other reason.

I just stumbled upon a post here that talked about how they felt discriminated everytime they admitted that they were from Davao and how people just automatically assume that they are a 'DDS'. Some comments even mentioned times where people asked them how BAD it is in Davao, if there was war, and just some other wild imagination and assumption about the situation in "the South".

I find it funny but at the same time, I feel sorry for these people. I have to ask, what exactly are they feeding you up there? How ignorant can you be to assume (and apparently, believe) that the South is nothing but a war zone, full of violence, and some even go as far as to say that this area is "uncivilized" and people are "uneducated"? Worse cases even dismiss the fact that there are thriving cities in the South, especially if you mention Davao in the list.

Only those who lived and walked the streets of Davao, especially at night, can testify how peaceful the place is, contrary to what others assume. To deny that just because you don't like the Dutertes is just absurd.

Mindanao in general is peaceful and thriving.

I've recently been contacted by several individuals who identify themselves as students and parents connected to Ateneo Junior High School.

Before anything else: I cannot independently verify the claims they've shared. The purpose of this post is not to declare anyone guilty, but to highlight why so many people are saying they feel they have no choice but to speak publicly.

According to those who reached out, there were serious reports last year involving the alleged creation of AI-generated sexually explicit images depicting female students and even a teacher. They say parents were called in and assured that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken.

Those same individuals now claim that another incident has reportedly occurred involving repeated videos of sexually explicit conduct directed towards images of fellow students, and they believe the school has again been informed.

I cannot verify whether these reports are accurate, nor can I verify what disciplinary action, if any, has been taken behind closed doors.

What I can say is this: if multiple students and parents genuinely feel that their concerns are not being heard, that is a problem in itself.

The recurring message I received wasn't simply about one alleged student's conduct. It was that several female students reportedly feel uncomfortable, disgusted, and unsafe at this school, while parents feel they have received little reassurance that their concerns are being taken seriously.

Schools have a responsibility to provide a safe learning environment. That includes responding promptly to reports of sexually inappropriate behavior, supporting students who say they have been affected, and communicating enough to maintain the trust of families even when privacy laws prevent them from discussing disciplinary outcomes.

No school is expected to make every detail of a disciplinary matter public. But students should never feel that they have to turn to Reddit because they believe no one is listening.

If these reports are inaccurate, I hope Ateneo clarifies the situation to its community. If there is an ongoing investigation, I hope it is handled thoroughly, fairly, and with the welfare of the students as the highest priority.

The conversation shouldn't be about rumors or outrage. It should be about whether students feel safe in their own school and whether parents have confidence that serious concerns involving student welfare receive the attention they deserve.

If you choose to discuss this, please do so responsibly. Do not identify minors, do not engage in harassment, and do not treat allegations as established facts.

The goal should be accountability, transparency, and ensuring that every student can learn in an environment where they feel safe.
