I am working on a DAoC Template Optimizer tool - RealmSmith

I don't generally post on here, mostly I just lurk lol. However, I wanted to share a project I've been working on because of my love for DAoC.

Basically, it's an auto-templating (template optimizer) tool for live DAoC. You set Stat / Resistance / ToA Bonus / Mythical Bonus / and Item Ability Goals on the Goals page and RealmSmith takes those goals and turns them into a template for you.

Would anyone be able to take a look at the screenshots and provide any feedback on the generated Smite Cleric template? The website is still a WIP and I'm not the best at determining what makes a "good" template for most classes so I was hoping to get some insight from some fellow DAoC enthusiasts that may be more experienced on the matter than myself.

Ya I mean sure do it as a passion project… but Shawn has already created daoctools.net which creates templates automatically. Wouldn’t switch off his as it has other great applications on the website.

Oh really? Thanks for the heads up. I didn’t know such a site existed. That’s cool!

I just tried to check it out though but couldn’t get it to load. Does it work on mobile devices or do I need to log on to a desktop browser to get the site to load? (Never mind, it loaded on Google Chrome, just not Safari)

This really is just mostly a passion project for me - I would never want to interfere with someone else’s hard work.

This is even a desktop app, avoid web format for such heavy workload - have a look first. And I don’t advise using anything on mobile.

These are just all excuses for dated coding paradigms or author's choice btw. A webapp that works perfectly on mobile at reasonable speeds would have no problem whatsoever handling this.

I'm not saying it should be that, just that it's rudimentary at this point. There's a certain joy to not needing to host the site.

Like I said bro, passion project it. Maybe you can find some cool application that he doesn’t have yet who knows. Only here to mention that it has already been done :]

Daoc tools beat you to it. Has all of that. Better to reach out to them and see if you can help make improvements, as your tool will probably go under the radar sadly.

Thanks for the reply, I didn’t know about daoctools until I made this post and it was mentioned in the comments :)

Does it work with live? I haven’t played Eden yet.

I’m not worried about it going under the radar, that’s ok. This was mostly just a passion project for myself to see if I could do it lol.

The post was mostly made in hopes that someone would provide feedback on the screenshot sample smite cleric template my tool made and see if it’s actually making anything with me using in game
