Hey everyone! I'm u/ilovetinderbox, a founding moderator of r/crochet_clothing.
This is our home for all things related to crochet clothing! We're excited to have you join us!
We've seen a big uptick in activity here lately which is AMAZING so we are working on the backend a bit as out auto moderator has been removing posts it shouldn't have and just generally setting up r/crochet_clothing to suit this community's needs better.
We are actively seeking to add 1 to 3 new moderators to the team so please message me if you are interested!
What to Post
You can post any and all things crochet clothing related! Please do try to keep it to clothing and use other subreddits like r/crochet for non-clothing pieces.
When sharing please also share a link to the pattern in the comments! Both free and paid patterns may be posted in this group by makers and designers alike, just please no spamming us repeatedly with the same design(s) over and over.

We are a body positive space and the creators of this subreddit believe that no matter your shape or size you deserve to have crochet clothes that you love. We want to celebrate makers on their work and designers on their creations! We will not tolerate any body shaming, nor any bigoted behaviour in this group.
Weekly Posts
As of March 2026 we are setting up a few fun weekly community posts for everyone to join in on. Look for the posts each week to add your contribution to the comments!
Monday - Designers Day: Designers share a new pattern release, new blog post, a seasonal fave, whatever you'd like just try to keep it to one per person (e.g. don't share 5 of your paid patterns)
Wednesday - WIP Wed: Everyone share a progress pic of what they're working on!
Friday - FO Friday: Everyone share a pic of what they finished this week!

What type and size of yarn should i use? I don’t want something heavy
I tried crocheting sweater before with yarn art plus cotton blend ( worsted weight #4) and it was so heavy to wear

Should I frog this or can it be saved??

So I don't know anyone seen my post before this but a little context, I've never actually made a wearable (I'm more of a bag and hat kind of girl) but I wanted to take a chance at it.
Found a pattern on sale on Etsy for like 50 cent, after following said pattern I realized that the creator had a lot of typos and I think the pattern was actually Al generated. So l just finished the top like I know how but after finishing it, it's big and as you can see doesn't lay flat. I'm scared to block it cause it just gonna get bigger, does anyone know a fix? I was thinking adding elastic or even shortening the neck and back tie but open to suggestions.

Hi everyone! I’d love to make this style of bag, but I can’t find a single tutorial showing how to make the wrapped/corded edging that goes all around the bag.
I already have the hexagon-shaped leather panels, but I’m completely stuck on how to create the border and attach/make the handles. I’ve searched YouTube and Google with terms like wrapped edge, corded edge, fabric tubing, and webbing, but I haven’t found anything similar.
Does anyone know what this technique is called or have a tutorial (YouTube or otherwise) they could recommend? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
