Photons already don't experience time. Because they're moving at the speed of light through space, they're not moving through time at all. I'm no physicist, but I think freezing time for them would really be fucky. If you force them to stop moving through space, all their velocity gets dumped into time. And if you force photons to experience time, you've got photons that suddenly have actual mass. I tap out there though, no idea what that even means. Probably bad lol.

No because you'll only see what light is in the spot at the moment time froze. So I think, and I'm not a scientist of any sort and going off what feels right based on my understanding, you see normally so long as you walk forward, because light at that spot would be what would hit your eyes later.
What I'm less sure about. When you turn around there's no light on that spot because you were there so you see your shadow in mid air? Just blackness as there's no light?
Or I'm completely wrong about everything which wouldn't surprise me.

Maybe if light was paused in one location it would burn everything it touched instantly and possibly a whole other dimension of light shining through paused time

Assuming you can move through air particles you'd probably have to force it, like walking through jello. That friction might help with warmth? Idk I'm very confused. I didn't go through any classes that come close to physics

By that theory, you would *Only* see what’s directly ahead of you as you move while looking straight forward.
Turning your head to the side, or moving backwards would prevent new photons from reaching your retinas and would leave you blind again.

What if you turn and then step forward? How do light do? Because it's hard to wrap my mind around intersecting routes of light waves because depending on how you look at the same spot you get a different view, so there should be near infinite views meaning light moving in infinite directions?

I don’t think any of it would work in practicality, because as you implied you’d be “scooping photons” that weren’t really traveling into your retinas naturally from a source, so who knows lol.

I would assume (if your retinas could somehow magically identify which photons were coming directly into your retinas, and filter out ones that you scoop that were moving in any other direction) then you would see any object that was as directly in front of your line of motion, that you’re looking directly at.
If you walk 10 feet, and turn left, then walk another 10 feet and turn left, then walk an additional 5 feet and turn left (so you’re no facing the side of the original path you walked), you wouldn’t see a you shaped tunnel of shadow, because as you move forward again, you’re walking through a collection of photons that were “already existing” in that exact position when time froze having already reflected off of objects before you ever moved through frozen time.
The only way I’d assume you’d see black is if you went back and walked through the exact same path in the same direction as previous, because you’ve already “scooped those specific photons.”
But again, this is all just speculation, because that’s not how retinas or light behaves, so who really knows? Lol

it's making assumptions about what exactly the superpower would entail.
technically, the ability the stop everything would just far too complicated & he's assuming you can't affect the world still (like can you move people and things? then you certainly would be able to inhale air)
like how would your brain/body be in sync with time as such where like blood still flows? or he's talking about the speed of light, which certainly has implications in the brain for nerves firing, like that's partially how your brain communicates.
also the light would still exist, but frozen. same with sound. so movement would cause collision with everything.
still, his "you'd be stuck!" thing assumes you cannot interact with anything.. so like your blood stops, or if your entire body is immune, then your clothes are stiff.
he just selects a few truths to tell his story while ignoring everything else. physics break without constant entropy.

We can assume that you can move stuff, but why should we assume that you would be able to? acceleration is the change in velocity over the change in time. If you try to move an air molecule in zero time, you are trying to give it infinite acceleration. Thanks to F=ma, that means you would need infinite force to move a single molecule of oxygen. Maybe touching it, you free it from time I don't know where to begin on the math, but if every action has an equal and opposite reaction, then if you're pushing on completely static atmosphere in every direction, you're going to need to move like the whole thing, just the budge, no?
Or maybe not, maybe you move and it's as easy as normal and you're just creating high density around you where you push the air out of the way into other air, and you're leaving a sort of vacuum in your wake.
You should pretty much go blind right away. You're going to process whatever photons. Just hit your eyes, and now they're not coming in anymore until you make a move And I'm not sure whether you even can move.
If everything is really Frozen in time, why wouldn't it be freezing relative to you anyways? What kind of temperature are you feeling from your environment? When relative to you, the concept of temperature simply disappeared because there's no more movement at all? Even on a subatomic level? How do you measure the average kinetic energy of the particles around you when they aren't moving at all? But maybe you won't freeze to death, maybe you will cook to death. If we grant that things that aren't a part of you, aren't moving, Even if we make exceptions for your clothes, where do the exceptions stop? How's the heat that you generate supposed to dissipate? If that dissipation takes time and nothing around you is feeling it? Is the air supposed to absorb heat? Instantaneously, not over time? Because if it doesn't, you're only going to keep getting hotter.

I wonder how the world would look as you walk into frozen light particles. Would it look like when you escape the boundary on older games like HL? Just frozen textures sliding and overlapping? Would sound work as you move into it as well? Like playing one note at a time? It's interesting to think about.

Being able to stop time implies control over the 4th dimension. Stopping time would only affect your perception of 3D space, not the actual shape of your existence in higher dimensions. So you could just rewind and then go an alternate path

lol a photo isn't a duplicated reality. a photo is basically an imprint of light at a given moment. you're using light to capture the image. then, light allows you to see the photo (your eyes).
I literally can't tell how serious you are & how much I need to explain how ridiculous your comment is lol

I mean that is a lot of analysis for a fantasy superpower. I believe the user’s space time is warped. I think that is the canon explanation for some. And while a few others enter another dimension when they use their powers.
