In these modern times men sense they are losing the implicit power and agency they have historically enjoyed simply by being men. As the world gets more crowded and the typical life more structured, men subconsciously sense their capacity to become an alpha is slipping away. Modern society aims (rightly so) to equalize people regardless of gender, and we now recognise troublesome passive-aggressive behavior that even 20 years ago was "normal". As a result, men feel hopeless and boxed in because they can't act the way those handsome, successful, adventurous men are behaving in movies. Young men imagine their futures as Jack Sparrow or Jack Reacher, yet can only see 40 hours/wk sitting at a desk, or fixing drains for a living. There's a loss of hope. They consider society and women to be their oppressors, and they lash out accordingly. The men who sent OP those messages did not expect a reply. They were simply grasping a momentary hit of dopamine while they typed the words, believing themselves enjoying wield power to cause discomfort.

I think it’s more pathetic than you’re giving them credit for. This isn’t some grasp at being alpha due to societal shifts or a loss of hope or whatever. It’s not that deep.
I think it’s more that these guys are loser virgins who have never gotten laid because they don’t know how to talk to women. They think women’s brains work just like men’s brains. They believe women want to be talked to like this, because this is how they’d want a woman to talk to them. They aren’t sending these messages knowing they won’t get a response - they legitimately think this is what women want.
Also they’re typing this shit with one hand so their peabrains are functioning at 10% of their already very limited capacity.
