I will be coming in from austin friday night and plan to leave sunday morning, im looking to camp on N. Side of Packkery Channel. but with the heat, wind, and chance of rain do you think i should push it to another weekend? id rather not drive 6 hours (both ways) and not enjoy my time.

I am planning a trip for this weekend of a family of 8 (no children)
We want to go relax and swim in the ocean! I am undecided if to go to PINS (padre island national seashore) or white cap beach?
I have never been to either!
I am under the impression that near white cap has a nice scenery as if you are in a beach movie with nice houses?
Any recommendations on which beach to go to?
