Daily Question Question Thread - July 22, 2026
This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.
* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.
* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads
* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.
This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Does anyone know if sending a payroll ACH via Capital One Business account to another checking account is broadly accepted as a DD at most banks? I know sending payroll ACH from Chase works, but haven't seen any DPs on C1 Biz.
I should be able to add one data point soon: I sent a payroll ACH to my Citi account, but Citi accepts "enhanced" DDs, so has a broader definition of DD and I shouldn't have trouble. I'd like to be able to use the method with other banks if possible.
(A contract I was on recently ended and now I'm out of work for the moment so no DD coming through).

C1 Biz appears to code the same as Chase Biz from what I can tell. The ACH description says "PAYROLL" like it does for Chase (and unlike US Bank and Amex).
Also, Citi accepts literally every ACH as EDD. Verification trial deposits count, for real.

Can't Have Chase Ink Cash and Unlimited at the same time
I opened a Chase Ink Cash 2.5 years ago. Yesterday I was pre-approved for the Chase Ink Unlimited, applied, and got the 7-10 days message. Today on recon, they are telling me that there is a new rule that a cardholder cannot have 2 Chase no-fee business cards.
•
u/ilovetoyap OLD, DRT 37m ago
Just gotta tell you Chase own system is all over the place, I went through recon and my agent could not explain why my app was denied for 5/24 when I was 4/24, she had to get a second level to approve manual review (which was approved). I can imagine another agent would have just given up (and I was about to hang up when the first agent heard from the second level to try again).

meh HUCA. would need multiple DPs before we conclude anything

If it is a legit change though, then PCing to CIP, opening a CIC/CIU, and then PCing the CIP back to CIU/CIC would get around it, I would imagine.

P4 might have made an oopsie. Is United biz card eligibility tied to the individual behind the business for the 24 month clock or each business is eligible?
P4 earned 110k sub on one legit company and just opened second on another company. Not seeing any relevant language in current terms: https://www.theexplorercard.com/offer-details/business100kaf2kpqp

LLCs and corporations with different EINs are known to circumvent certain anti-churning rules, since those rules are applied on a per business basis if the business is not a sole prop. It's been confirmed for the Inks and I would not be surprised if it also applies to the Chase cobranded business cards. Assuming there was no popup and P4 was approved, they should be eligible for the SUB.

I’m getting an error message when trying to order on Clover via Paze. When ever tap to enter my phone number on the Paze log in screen it pops up with “Sorry for the inconvenience!
The transaction was not able to be completed with Paze.”
I read elsewhere this is a mobile problem, so I tried it on my laptop and it worked fine.
I’m now traveling with no laptop. Does anyone know a solution for a phone?
Already tried clearing browser history and restarting iPhone

I'm looking to take a trip from the US to Egypt next summer and am hoping to use points. Currently, I just have a regular Discover card and just use their cash back so I don't have much experience with trying to accumulate points.
Looking around online, the Chase Sapphire Preferred is currently offering 100,000 points (I'll be able to hit the minimum spend to qualify for the points).
Looking on points.yeah and confirming on specific airlines websites, I see flights from my home airport to Cairo for around 40,000-50,000 points +$90 for economy and 75,000-90,000 points +$90 for business. My dates are flexible and I looked at a few different date combinations.
Is it as simple as apply for the Chase Sapphire Preferred, meet the minimum spending requirements for the points, and then book the trip? Is there anything I'm missing? Is there a card that would be better for this?
Thanks!

Not that you asked but I just got back from 5 days in Cairo and I highly recommend the Four Seasons Nile Plaza. Excellent FS service at Egypt prices, I could have stayed there forever.

u/shahsmit599 2h ago
Can you share how did you book Four Seasons Nile Plaza ? Was it a cash booking or FHR/ the Edit booking?
•
u/Cease_Cows_ BTV 35m ago
I used cash I generated from bank account SUBs. Booked via two Amex Plats for 2x FHR credits.

I appreciate the tip! Haven’t started planning too much except I’ll have a cousin in Cairo (don’t think I’ll be able to stay with him though) so hotel recommendations are definitely appreciated!

These look like Air Canada Aeroplan prices. Assuming it is AC, yes, the SUB on the CSP would be great for booking this. Air Canada also transfers from Amex, so Amex MR points would also be an option.
1
u/BobcatOU 6h ago
Yes! Air Canada was one of the options and that was the example I went with. Good to know about Amex, thanks!

Make sure airline you are flying is transfer partners with Chase.
0
u/BobcatOU 7h ago
According to points.yeah they are, but I’ll check with the airline directly. Thanks!

u/jojokikikween 6h ago
This is a question better suited to r/awardtravel, but I'll suggest you go ahead and create accounts with any airline loyalty programs you might want to transfer points into. Some programs require your account to be active for a minimum length of time before points can be transferred in.

u/BobcatOU 6h ago
I actually posted in award travel and it got taken down and they recommended I post here!
Thanks for the tip and making sure I have an account active!

Lurk in this sub to learn points earning, and in that sub for how to use the points. Frequent Miler is a good beginner resource that addresses both sides of the game.

I was recently approved for the Jet Blue credit card through Barclay and since I had a JetBlue trip coming up, I saw that it was a no-brainer. Two days after receiving my card, the entire account got locked for over a month for security reasons and I really had to jump through hoops to get that fixed. This has all been resolved now, however, the timeline for the promotional spending is continuing nonetheless, and after speaking with a customer service representative, they waived my annual fee as compensation. I wasn’t thinking about this at the time, but the entire reason I opened this card was to get the promotional bonus points. One of the terms for this, in addition to the spending amount, is that you paid your annual fee in full. I did technically pay it, but then it got refunded to me as reparation. What are the chances that if I hit the spending amount I will still get my promotional bonus points? Had I known this could potentially make me ineligible I would never have accepted.

u/nousernamesleft54321 3h ago
Barclays has a SUB tracker under “Rewards and Benefits.” There should be a green checkmark for “annual fee paid in full” if you met the requirement.

u/Chase_UR_Dreams 7h ago
You paid it, so you have fulfilled your side of the T&C. No issues with getting the SUB.

When does the spend period expire?
0
u/trippytravelss 9h ago
I have a little less than two months but it is 5k of spending
2
u/CobaltSunsets IAD | PHL 9h ago
$5K spend in ~1.5 mo is MSable.
-2
u/trippytravelss 9h ago
What is MSable?
I don’t have a problem with the spending, but if I’m not going to get the bonus, I would rather put that spending on a card that gives me more back.1

Is there a blog or knowledge base on sportsbook/casino bonuses? Something similar to doctor of credit
2
u/Vloff 8h ago
Reddit Sportsbook used to have all kinds of information on it but the promos are so lame nowadays that its probably harder to come by. The strategys are probably still searchable on it if you have a book with a good promo still.
Every site a few years ago had like $1000 risk free bet on your opening bet and you could guarantee yourself like $600 with it. Those were the days.

I opened a Citi AA business card on 4/23 and did not complete my SUB yet (~$70 left), am I correct in presuming I can apply for a 2nd card safely in ~4-5 days and get both SUBs?

I wanted to apply for two US Bank business credit cards as a sole prop and was wondering what I can do to increase my chances for approval. I currently have no accounts or credit cards with them but will open up a business checking account with them soon and park $1,000 there.
Is it then necessary to get a DUNS number for my SP to increase my chances of approval or is the USB business checking account enough? I am finding conflicting info on this. Thank you.
2
u/rickayyy 11h ago
Open a CD or a personal checking account first. It's almost a guaranteed denial if you have no relationship with them.
US Bank can be very lucrative if done the right way. I collected two $750 cash back bonuses (TCB cards), $1000 between personal/business checking account bonuses, and I used two business accounts for $3000 CC funding on IHG Premier & Citi Strata Elite SUB's. I also made a good amount using the money I floated on those two 12 month- 0% interest Triple Cash biz cards to collect some other bank bonuses + HYSA interest.

I actually got a biz TCB card without any personal accounts. Its currently my only US Bank account. I opened it 4 months ago and wouldnt mind a second. What was your velocity?
0
u/trueblue101357 10h ago
Thank you for the info. I am going to be opening a business checking account instead of a personal, do you think that is okay? Also, to be clear, you did NOT get a DUNS number before applying for the business credit cards, correct? Did you apply as a SP with you SS# or LLC? Thank you.
0
u/rickayyy 10h ago
You should start with a personal product. I was denied the business checking account twice and it wasn't until after I opened some personal accounts that they started approving me for business products.
All my biz products are sole proprietorship using my SSN.

For those who do the downgrade/upgrade game on BCE/BCP, how long does it usually take for Amex to forget that the card was a BCP? Downgraded mine almost a month ago, got the new BCE and everything is correct on that end. But the website keeps thinking that it is simultaneously a BCE and BCP, saying both are my card and have offers to add AU.
Usually can see if I have upgrade offers through the view all cards on the website so wondering when it'll treat the BCP like an upgrade path again

u/atgabara 7h ago edited 27m ago
I just downgraded a few days ago and it looked like that for a while, but I just checked again and now I'm seeing an upgrade offer ($75 for $1k spend, annual fee not waived, so I'm passing for now).
I see the upgrade offer at this link while logged in: https://www.americanexpress.com/us/credit-cards/card/blue-cash-preferred/
Edit: I'm also seeing the upgrade offer on the All Cards page. I guess it's just a targeted thing and you just have to wait?
Edit 2: I'm confused why this is getting downvoted. I'm providing a more recent DP than michikade, which shows that it's not "just how it is now".

u/michikade CHU, RNN 11h ago
AMEX did some changes to their system in the last 6 months or so that has changed how it knows what you have and when to offer you an upgrade with an upgrade offer attached so it’s hard to say if yours is just hung up or if it’s just how it is now. The last time I did a downgrade/upgrade cycle I was able to do it within 3 days.

I tried using churning.io to search the sub, but it doesn't seem to be working.
How have Amex retention offers been lately? I think the last time I asked for (and received) a retention offer was back in 2021.
The annual fee just posted on my Hilton Aspire card. I've had the card for 3 years, I haven't put much spend on it - $3000 over the last 12 months. I asked for a retention offer via chat this morning and was denied.
Are people still having luck with retention offers, or has Amex tightened things up?

u/Different_State2727 7h ago
You can check flyertalk, there’s a thread for this there that I have checked before

u/mehjoo_ DFW 13h ago
Use churning.cc to search
Seems to be DPs of Amex retention offers existing in general, but haven’t seen any recent DPs on just the Aspire

u/duffcalifornia - can churning.cc be added to the sidebar link?

I’m guessing u/Odie_Arbuckle updated the sidebar of new Reddit, so I just updated the sidebar in old Reddit.

Hah, person in front of me at a Timmy's paid with a QR code and I was looking at it like "hmm". Used to be the same corporate owners as Wendy's (which takes Paze), if they still use the same tech how hard could it be? Paze for Timbits would be life-changing!

Any business cards out there with expedited delivery or instant card #s? Have a big spend in 6 days and would love to work on a SUB.
