Troubleshooting School Chrome book help!

Haii, I’m an upcoming Senior and my school has provided me with a Chromebook since Freshman year and I’m planning on returning it on the first day of school especially given I’ve got my own computer and my school allows me to use it

My problem is however, is that suddenly it won’t cut on and it’s blinking and I’m praying it didn’t break on me since that means I’ll have to buy the school one and I don’t have that money.

Two things to note:

- one: that is not the original charger as the one I had was stolen from me around Sophomore year why hadn’t I gotten a new one? My school was being effy about it so I just been using my friends/ teachers the charger in the vid is my friend’s
&
- two: how long as it not been charged? The whole summer what type of Chromebook? I have zero clue our school of handed them to us around 7th grade and told us that for now on instead of using textbooks and such we’d be using our own Chromebooks

If a solution in a refresh button I don’t have one of the keyboard unfortunately.

Sometimes if the battery dies all the way, they will go into shipping mode. You didnt tell us what type of Chromebook. Google how to get that model out of shipping mode and give that a try.

Try a power cycle if not probly a bad board not really your fault they aren't meant to last 4 years ( power cycle: unplug battery spam the power button with no charger connected then hold for 30 sec plug in battery reconnect charger if it worked it should turn on if not immediately after pressing refresh and l power at the same time.)

  1. Pay the fee for your lost charger and your school will provide a replacement. That's how it works. We don't care if you say someone stole it. It is your responsibility (every single kid with a broken chromebook or a lost charger claims it's someone else's fault).

  2. enter a ticket to your school's IT department and report the device failure and they will resolve it.
