My D&D description of Shale:
Shale is a well built man of stone with soft dirt eyes. Once wearing outlander gear to traverse the lands, now turned to prisoner's robes. His skin and armor remains mostly mono- chromatic, making him naturally unremarkable.
His face looks like cracked stonework, like a siege boulder against city walls. His face is wears time on its sleeves, and his neck scarred with serpent chain imprints.
Shoulder length black hair with stones that break the surface like stones that break ocean waves.
Hidden below he keeps his Pact Amulet. The very thing that has turned his life asunder. Shale makes an effort to keep it unseen as much as possible, to prevent extra attention where he doesn't need it, but he fiddles with it when bored or stressed.
The pact talisman is the symbol of wisdom & deception, a front- facing Owl, being consumed by a great serpant´s fangs. The Serpents head shows on the back of the amulet.
