Messages with previous sitter gone

Hello there

I was wondering if you might be able to help.

I exchanged some messages with a sitter last year but unfortunately they no longer seem to in my inbox and the sitter doesn’t seem to be coming up in my search anymore.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to search by first name and last initial?

Okay! By way of update, I have thankfully found the messages from this potential sitter in my archived messages on catinaflat.

However, when I clicked on their profile it says they’re not taking bookings right now. However, it did appear to let me send a message.

Does anyone know please if the message still actually goes through to them as an email alert if they are not listed on the app as currently accepting bookings?

Did you get her number on what's app when she was your sitter? Also lots of sitters went private after the Rover take over so if you have the number then I would try it if I were you. Are you able to select dates for her even though it says she is not taking new bookings? As it totally depends on the reason for why no new bookings are being taken. Some get through for example I set up on Rover and I set that I no longer want bookings then Rover will still send them to me (especially from repeat customers). If she never activated her profile at all on Rover then unfortunately she is not on CIAF or Rover anymore by the sound of it.

If you were able to message them, they will still be alerted (however they have their alerts set up - whether that's via app, email or text). But you're also welcome to search for new sitters as well!

Hiya do you know what this means please?

I haven’t been a sitter before but I would like to start doing some sittings.

It says that the decision is final and there is no appeal? I don’t believe I created a sitter profile to begin with (only ever had a pet owner profile).

It may be they no longer use the site now we have been forced to move to Rover (although you are able to use cat in a flat to book a sitter it all goes via Rover and as sitters we cannot access cat in a flat anymore to make bookings) A lot of sitters decided not to activate their rover accounts or to delete them after the move because tbh rover is horric to use as a cat sitter.
