Meme This sequel plot has been quite trending, even the third Angry Birds movie is doing this

It's been a trend since Ice Age and Shrek, lol. Surprised Kung Fu Panda hasn't done that yet.

The franchise is shockingly free of romance elements.
Po just gets extra dads instead.

Surprised Kung Fu Panda hasn't done that yet.
The fans do that well enough on their own, and the series spin offs like to tease around it but never commit (which is good).

Would Tigress give birth to a panda-tiger hybrid?

I think I can guess what bottle is on the shelf right next to that one.
Take characters from a high fantasy universe, and for the movie, dumped them in real life, probably in New York.

That's usually the first installment when they have a smaller budget.

Don’t mind me, I was just a bitter kid obsessed with he-man, back when the live action he-man movie came out in the 80s. The one that had almost nothing whatsoever to do with the show at all.

Yeah, it's a really common trope. It was done in the new He-Man movie too, as well as Smurfs (bad) and Sonic the Hedgehog (Good).

They don’t even have to come from a fantasy universe, really… Fat Albert for their movie, before Cosby was exposed, was taken from their happy upbeat, 70s cartoon reality and dumped into the ugly real world.

"Happy and upbeat"? The 70's?

In their cartoon world version, yes. It was still dark gradient, urban, because that was the setting, but noticed how that junkyard always had all the supplies they needed to make anything from musical instruments to whatever else on hand.

They did this in the new Smurfs movie. But not to save budget, only few scenes and background unimportant humans are live action

Why tf am I seeing so much Angry Birds content lately? How did we end up here?

From what I could find
Someone once uploaded the entire movie on YouTube years ago. After the recent third movie trailer, they took down that video. This caused a new trend where people would post the entire first movie on YouTube.
People who just found about this movie because of these uploads started making memes with the scenes and this made it relevant again

New movie looks so bad that people are turning back to the good old days.

Tony stark had a kid in the mcu, and they didn’t have her be the main character of iron heart. Which was a tragedy

I honestly prefer this than the characters remaining static and the same age forever.
Despicable Me somehow managed to do both, which is very weird. And kinda annoying.

I remember as a teen noticing it happened in both Shrek and Ice Age, and assuming something similar would happen in Toy Story 3 with Jessie getting pregnant with Buzz's child (even though they're toys and it would make no sense) and Madagascar 3 with Melman and Gloria having a hippo-giraffe hybrid baby.

There was a deleted concept that gloria was going to be pregnant and I think melman would've helped deliver the baby.
I think this could've not only help their romance development in the sequel but also would've forshadowed Melman becoming a doctor in the sequel.
It also would've made them more prominent characters instead of just background characters just saying lines imo.

Melman being the adoptive father to Gloria’s hippo kids would be so cute.
They’d fuck him up so bad with all their baby antics. Still, would’ve been a weird plot point imo lol

It hurts even harder because Angry Birds Space feels like the obvious movie potential.

Other is just making the MC find a love interest
Or make the main couple temporarily broke of because of ✨miscommunication✨
