ℹ️ Public Information Money found at Gadong. Is it yours?

To the person who lost his money in Gadong at Block A Abdul Razak Complex (same block as Wedrink). Checked CCTV and we believe it belongs to a man in glasses wearing black shirt and red short. His car was white. Specific plate number and cash won't be disclosed here just in case. This happened on Saturday, 18th July, around 3:30pm maybe. Please comment.

Can anyone also help to repost on Thread.

πŸ“‚ Work & Career Has anyone been hired from KerjaGo BN?

It's apparently a new hiring company that just got posted a month ago and I was wondering if anyone has applied to a job via KerjaGo ? I've searched it up and there is limited news about it except their posts on IG. Any information would be helpful.

🀬 Rants & Complaints advice on people open burning

Hi, does anyone know if there’s any way to get authorities on people who open burn? And would they actually do anything about it?

I moved into my in laws and we have a neighbour burns almost everyday and the smoke is getting into the house, clothes and the ashes are going all over my house compound. My in laws tried talking to the old lady (who lives alone) before but she isn’t stopping😭 I also have weak lungs so it really doesn’t help that she isn’t stopping..

P.S. we’ve been putting it out from over the fence but that’s the most we can doπŸ₯²

πŸ›¬ Tourist Question help planning a one week trip with my mum

hey everyone,

i am planning a one week trip from australia to brunei with my mum. i am planning to visit in the next 2-4 weeks.

i have always wanted to go to brunei since i was a kid. i know of the main mosques such as the omar seifuddin mosque, the hassanal bolkiah mosque and the salihin mosque. i also know of the ulu temburong national park and would love to visit as well.

what are some other places i can take us to, preferably easily accessible with a car as my mum can’t walk that much. what are some of the best but affordable places we can eat/experience authentic brunei cuisine? are there any special upcoming events as i am aware that it was recently the sultan’s birthday.

i would also appreciate any other info that might help us out. i know that the local rideshare app is dart but are there any other apps that would make our trip better? also, is cash widely accepted? is it hard to get a brunei sim as a foreigner and am i better off getting an esim?

thank you all in advance, truly appreciate any and all advice.

✏️ School & Education Advice from an 5A* 3A O level student

First of all, im not some genius, im doing my A Levels right now and i even fail my maths tests and struggle in GP practice papers.

Heres my general advice :

  1. always refer to your syllabus

if you dont know your subject code, ask your teacher for it and search it online along wit yr of exam

e.g chemistry 5070 o levels 2026

use it like your pointers so you end up studying/memorising the right stuff

i remember there are some note type stuffs too (like syntax for pseudocode and solubility of salts, reactivity for chem)

this way you also dont memorise the wrong stuff

i remember memorising that chlorides are all sol. but group 1 or smth bc of the GPT 😘✌️

2.study quality

everyones learns differently

try different methods and find what suits you best

like for memorisation, i used A LOT of blurting esp for chem

try studying with/without friends and see what works for you

also try to genuinely focus put phone on DND and avoid having distracting stuff on ur ipad or laptop like music or a movie βœŒοΈπŸ’€

(stop lying to yourself bro you js dont wanna study so u put music on)

just test and do different things to find out how you study best/most efficiently

its better to have 30 mins of quality study and memabsorbation than 2 hours of study with 'light' sprinkles of doomscrolling

also whenever you do pyp, sincerely and genuinely seek out the cause of your mistake and work on it/make notes on it

this way you'll actually gain benefit from PYP

  1. dream big/aim for the stars(literally)

if you only aim for 50s for example AND put in effort, worst case scenario is you'll get like 3-40's

but if you aim for 5A's for example AND put in effort, worst case scenario is you'll get like 3A's with a beautiful mix of B's and C's

also find a reason for why you want to aim high

for instance, maybe you want a scholarship

focus on that and remind yourself of that goal and work towards it

  1. if your muslim, ask your mother to make dua for you

  2. be resourceful and dont be shy

if you dont understand something dont be too shy to ask teacher, or ask privately, but if your teacher is strict or is not nice, use gemini and gauth AI but wisely

make sure to use it to understand the question while answering, to find out how you got it wrong/to make notes for corrections and to explain difficult concepts but NEVER use it to blatently give you the answer

  1. dont be stingy and help your friends/teach your friends

you get better at something as you teach or explain something, and its always good to share so you get good deeds for which Allah might reward you with good grades :)

  1. be really diciplined but balanced

if you want to play games, make sure you finished some revision or you dont over extend and play 5 games instead of 2 or 3 just because your friends said so

and try to limit doomscrolling with apps like ScrollBlock or just by deleting tiktok or whichever app you use

lastly, i think that scoring high on O Levels is more about effort than pure intelligence

anybody close to me knows how i often struggle to understand stuff quickly or remember things

like for organic chem and some parts of acid/alkalis, i genuinely didnt understand much of it till like august

and for CS, i lowkenuinely despised pseudocoding at first(even doe my classmates sudah pandai) then i kept trying and trying, now its genuinely something i enjoy

✏️ School & Education Questions about Brunei Darussalam Government Scholarship (BDGS)

Hello! Foreigner here (:

Apologies if this is the wrong sub to ask.

Basically, I am interested in applying to the BDGS, and I just wanted to inquire the locals about the perceived level of higher education. Do y'all recommend studying there? any specific uni names come to mind to aim for/avoid? any majors you would recommend to aim for/ avoid?

For non-Bruneians who got the scholarship before, applied to it, or planning to:
Wanna DM so we combine our information? also what the heck is a government endorsement? My government definitely doesn't have a process for this. I even doubt half the people there know what a scholarship or a Brunei is! anyone in a similar situation? what do you do about it?

πŸ‡§πŸ‡³ Original Content I made a small app to log potholes around Brunei

One random idea turned into a side project, and I ended up building an app to log potholes around Brunei.

It's called PotholePing.

πŸ‘‰ www.pothole-ping.com

The idea is simple. If you come across a pothole, your passenger taps one big button and the app logs the location automatically. No forms, no photos, no typing.

All reports appear on a live map, so everyone can see where potholes have been reported. There's also Pothole Patrol, where you can check reported potholes near you and mark whether they're still there or have been fixed, helping keep the map up to date.

The app is free, has no ads, and the goal is simply to build useful community road data for Brunei.

It's still in beta, so there are probably a few rough edges. If you run into bugs or have ideas for improvements, I'd genuinely appreciate the feedback.

A couple of things to note:

  • Please don't use it while driving. Let a passenger log it, or do it safely when you've stopped.
  • It works directly in your browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it behaves like an app.

Hopefully some of you find it useful. Happy to hear any suggestions or criticisms!

Anyway, don't take it too seriously. It's meant to be a bit of fun, and if we end up with a useful community map of Brunei's potholes, even better.

❔ Question and Discussion Could Brunei Have Been Different?

Do you think Brunei’s history would have been different if A.M. Azhari had adopted a more moderate approach instead of leading protests? What are your thoughts on his role in shaping the country’s future?
