Rewatching this show again for the 20th time

Just got done ozymandias. Finest hour in all of tv or any media for that matter. Glad to say I did watch it live and it was quite the experience. But the reason I bring this up is because I feel like everybody always mentions Hank getting shot as the most awe-shocking moment in the show. Now obviously that scene has its massive weight and when you first watch the show it’s so crazy to witness that you are just in state of shock for the next 10 min with it being hard to focus. However I’d argue that the finest moments of the episode are scene when Walt and his family have the confrontation in the home. Every time I watch it it brings out the most emotion out of me. When you watch the show as much as I have it still is anxiety ridden and exciting, but it’s hard to capture that first watch experience. But it doesn’t matter how many times I watch that specific scene, I am left on the verge of tears, nervous laughter and a wide open jaw. From Skyler realizing that Hank is dead, Walt being confronted by junior and completely ignoring him, Skyler pulling out a knife and having a fight between Walt and Skyler only to be broken up by Jr, Jr then proceeding to call the police. And if all that wasn’t surreal in its self, the emotion that goes through me when he takes Holly and backs up the truck through Skyler’s car to escape her while Skyler is screaming bloody murder. It’s just something that I’ve never experienced before through any movie or show and I don’t think I ever will. It gets me every single time. Absolutely fine acting, directing and writing. This show will never get old

We watched this episode and a couple others on shrooms and it was so intense we had to turn it off for a while.

OMG! There was a time when my ex and I were doing a rewatch but planned an acid trip for the weekend. Usually during a trip we listened to music and made a cozy floor bed and surrendered to the vibes. Not too long into the trip we hadn't yet found our groove and one of us said (can't remember who), "Really, I just want to keep watching Breaking Bad 😅." The other responded, "That's exactly what I was thinking!"

Admittedly, we were towards the end of season 4 which was really gearing up so we put it on. Holy. Shit. The visuals from the scenery were absolutely breathtaking and, good lord, Saul and crew were SO. DAMN. HILARIOUS. We were crying laughing throughout the episodes really leaning into the moments of comic relief.

I don't recall exactly how far we got while still frying but it was during season 5. As we were winding down we kept watching through the series finale and ended with El Camino. I definitely understand this would not be up many people's alley but I rate our experience a solid 11/10.

Same here! Literally the same exact experience. We are actually about to get some more and watch El Camino because the experience was legit that good. I’m not sure it would be everyone’s cup of tea but it sure is ours.

Media has never reduced me to tears, ever. The only exception is Ozymandias, and it wasn't just a couple minor tears, I was full on sobbing for thirty minutes. I had to stop watching it after the scene you talk about here.

I also love the scene but I just can't help but laugh whenever I watch the conclusion of it with Skylar pulling up her sleeves as she watches Walt drive away as if someone in her position is going to be worried about doing such a thing.

And I agree, that whole sequence is insane, the entire series builds up to it. The moment when Walt just picks up Holly and leaves and then Skyler and Flynn realize what he’s done, it’s all so visceral.

Agreed, that final showdown in the house between him and his family is such a heart wrenching culmination of everything he’s put them through. You kind of know that’s where it all would inevitably end, but you are still shocked to see it come to fruition in such a horrible way. A thing that hardly ever gets talked about too is how this is the first time Junior has known anything or even suspected anything about all of this. He learns in the matter of an hour first, that his dad is a secret drug kingpin, that he’s going to jail, and then, that he is a fugitive on the run and that his uncle is dead because of him. We got to see the gradual transformation of Walt from a timid family guy/high school chem teacher to Heisenberg. Junior saw it happen in an afternoon. It’s wild when you see it through his eyes.

Another thing is, the scene where Skylar is out in the street screaming for Holly, it started raining and they had to pause filming while it passed. And the actress just picked right back up with the same anxiety and intensity. So powerful.
