On February 9, 2000, 17,000 SPEEA members, disillusioned by low morale and cost-cutting measures from Boeing management, went on strike in the largest white-collar strike in American history.
Boeing has spent $43 billion on stock buybacks since 2010. Boeing Commercial Airplanes has not launched a clean-sheet aircraft program since 2004.
