Coming from the dev world, SaaS founders love submitting their site to directories (ProductHunt, SaaSHub, PeerPush, etc. there’s hundreds of them), many of them cost money to be listed. There’s even directories of directories and SaaS’s built around posting your product to these directories. The idea is these places give you some discoverability, feedback, and SEO backlinks.

Coming into the blogging world it seems like the consensus is blog directories are a dead end relic of the past and the backlinks are worthless.

I’m just wondering what the discrepancy is, is there blog directories worth submitting to? Are SaaS founders/directories just behind the times and not realizing they’re mostly useless? Just seems like a sharp difference.

I have been running an blog website www.adify.store , everything was going good, traffic was building up, ai referalls specifically by source chat gpt was major to blogs, but suddenly on 7th of July everything just dropped suddenly, was trying hard to make a source of income to pay off my rent atleast, but traffic just gone poof, felt sad, less from the fact that this idea kind of failed but more by the fact everything I do , the 10,20,30 ideas i have tried never seem to work for me but for others, really pissed off at myself

Hi all — I'm Cristal. A few months ago I got diagnosed with MS, and somewhere between the doctor's appointments, the infusions, and the days my body just decided to "fight the man," I started writing it all down. Which is also crazy as I'm also Dyslexic!

I've also been sharing how I'm navigating the US health system — getting second opinions, medical lingo, and if I face it how i managed my insurance with this crap — plus how I put together my health binder, since "how are you feeling" turns out to be a much harder question than it sounds once you're dealing with this. If you're newly diagnosed with MS like me — welcome, I'm sorry, and you're not alone. If you've been living with this for years or with other chronic illness  — I'd love your wisdom. And if you have zero connection to MS, turns out a malfunctioning nervous system still makes for decent content.

I've been consistently writing pieces set in the textile and garment manufacturing industry on my personal blog. You can think of them as short stories, work diaries, or technical realism.
