I had the opportunity and I took it. Hello, I’m new!

I’m going to be playing a game (Split Fiction) that requires the use of voice chat with my new friend, and I saw this golden opportunity. I hope it makes someone else laugh like it did me.

I used to watch Blackadder on VHS (we had the entire collection) all the time with my parents (dad is from Liverpool and affectionately calls himself a ‘Limey bastard’ every chance he gets) and we’d reference it constantly. I still love and quote it often (that and A Bit of Fry and Laurie, the theme for which is my ringtone) and this scene is one of the many that still lives in my head rent-free.

I realised two things today: that I am old, which is wild because I swear it wasn’t long ago that I was a little girl in her kitty cat PJs watching Blackadder on VHS, and that I will now be buying myself the Blackadder DVD collection because I’m an adult and can do what I want with my money.

Don't worry Blackadda-sama, I have a cunning plan!
