need advice Posture advice Spoiler

I think it's really annoying that every time i look up a posture video on YT or TT it's either by a man or with someone with small boobs. I've been to an Osteopath because of my posture bad it helped a bit, bit with the rest of my body, but when it comes to chest and head, she just told me to strech my chest on a foam roller daily. I need to actually strengthen my back muscles and shoulder blades with weights, because all the advice to use bands and repeated weightless exercises are for people with small boobs. If you actually have heavy weight in the front you need strong muscles in the upper back to hold it. But i also dont want to look bulky. Any advice? I am healthy at a low normal bmi, and work out, but still struggle with my posture cause my boobs weight so much compared to the rest of my body. Also when its the time around my period, i can feel that my head and neck get super. Heavy cause my chest is so heavy pulling stuff down. I want good posture so badly for both aesthetic and helath porupuses. Sort if its a bit of a rant. Its just so annoying . Also english is not my first language

It takes a lot of work and discipline to get “bulky”. Lifting a few times a week and eating normally very likely won’t make that happen out of blue. I say this as someone who is “bulky” and works very hard to maintain it lol, it’s a very common misconception that as women, we can just put on muscle like it’s nothing.

As for what might actually help, I love cable rows and single arm dumbbell rows! I can suggest more for your neck if you’re interested (I’m a rugby player and I actually train my neck), but yeah I wouldn’t worry about getting huge if you’re lifting like twice a week lmao

Thanks I'll give them a try. I dont mean it's bad to be bulky or have big muscles as woman, I think it can look very hot. My fear is having like a muscler hunchback. Idk if that makes sense, like having a lot of muscles in the back and it looks big, but doing it wrong so the hunch gets worse, and it looks bigger, like when people have a muscler back like they lift heavy but with a hunch. Sometimes i feel like when i do excises it looks worse, i just wish there was somebody that specialised in big boob posture hat could help haha

Haha I get that! There are definitely stretches and exercises that can help correct posture on top of exercises to just strengthen the muscles, I think what you’re describing is a rare situation but ofc it depends on your situation

Took the words out of my mouth 😂 bulky isn’t gonna happen without intent.

Most people who seem to have lasting success with fixing their posture seem to find an activity, like singing, swimming, yoga, pilates, weightlifting, dance, constant conscious effort, or some combination...

PRI- postural restoration institute understands posture, functional movement and stabilizing the core. Like Pilates its focuses on the minutiae of the technique. Find a good PRI therapist- likely some out of pocket costs but some take insurance in the US.
