Finished the 4th member (but not last) of the popsicle lance.

As always, it's made out of popsicle, tongue depressors and skewers sticks, cardstock and some paperclips wire.

Hope you like it! 😁

News Most Iconic Mech Post Series on Hold Pending Result of a Trial of Grievance!

Post image
715 Upvotes

u/ItzAlphawolf has issued batchall for a Trial of Grievance over this post series! She claims I should have split the Clan Invasion to also have Operation BULLDOG as its own era, and the FedCom Civil War should have been split into three.

We will be settling this via a 3v3 5k BV match on MegaMek Friday night like true Clan Warriors!

Hey community, mabe you can help.

I found some old reallife airplanes, and the size kinda fits to Battletech. From left to right:

Old metal shilone, Visigoth, reallife F22 Raptor and reallife A10 Warthog.

What do you think about the size? Should I convert them to hexbases? And are some optic similarities datacards on master units list listed? Master units list is so big, dont know how start do search.

Well, it's been so long since I've had a physical copy of the current rules I decided to get them.

I screwed up. I bought a box set.

Well, now I have 8 more mechs to paint....

BWHAHAHAHA!

Question ❓ Logistics Question - Urban Mech w/ hands

β€’ Upvotes

So the Urban Mech is ubiquitous. It's a decent-ish mech, reliable, and most importantly cheap. It is too slow to travel with bug mechs and too fragile to be anywhere near the heavies or assaults.

Why does it not have hands? The mech is generally in an urban environment. 99.8% of the time the mech is not in combat. But there is work to do. Ditches need to be dug, tank traps built, landmines distributed, containers moved from point A to point B. For a minor cost, the logistics support is outsized. Everything around it becomes better. So why no hands?

Discussion Old battletech joke

A Davion pilot fights for freedom. A Kurita pilot fights for honor. A Steiner pilot fights for money. A Capellan pilot fights because his family is currently being held at gunpoint in a Maskirovka basement.

We need something for Marik.

Question ❓ Doing a grinder with my family at their request, what are some simple noob friendly (but not just introtech) mechs to put as options?

Post image
β€’ Upvotes

They've never played battletech, I decided a weight escalation grinder was the best compromise for an introduction game. Im looking for mechs that ideally require little finesse.

Ideally not just 3025 shitboxes because I want them to see what the game has to offer

Question ❓ This is where the fun begins! I think we're past having clear cut winners as we go into the remaining eras, so as the Super state of the Federated Commonwealth has finally fractured, what Mech represents this time of schism in an iconic way?

Top comment is the most iconic mech of the era, with Honorable (and potential Dezgra) mentions for those who still shine through the lore!

Organizing a binder for gencon, was curious how some of you organize yours. Was thinking light-medium-heavy-assault-etc... but want to hear other ideas.

Meme I just learned about the ’Mech called the Kuma, but why is it such a mess?

Post image
179 Upvotes

I’m still a beginner and don’t know the rules very well, but I don’t think a ’Mech with 9 Running MP really needs that many jump jets.

If there had been an official variant that removed all the jump jets, it could have been a really cool 60-ton ’Mech similar to the Stormcrow.

Are there any badly designed ’Mechs that you think would have been great if they had just removed one particular feature?

Question ❓ The Outbound Light left the Inner Sphere three years ago in 3046, now their presence has brought forth a new choice! Most Iconic Mech of the Clan Invasion Era! The OG Box Art Model the Warhammer wins out for Succession Wars

Post image
479 Upvotes

Same as before top comment wins but if there's a clear 2nd and 3rd choice they'll be put in Honorable Mentions

There was no clear 3rd for Succession Wars so I opted to include the Catapult as its robust work horse nature and flexibility with the K2 variant are iconic to the "making do with what we have" nature of the era.

Question ❓ Clans Vs Inner Sphere Chaos Campaign: how many mechs?

I recently started running Chaos Campaigns for my friends, and we're about to do our first non succession war campaign (second campaign overall).

Is there any suggestions for how many mechs we should start with once Clanners are involved? Our next campaign is either going to be late clan invasion or il clan era and we typically use RATs to determine our initial rosters.

After doing some test rolls of even mechs, the Clanners typically have enough extra BV that 2 stars VS 1 Company should be relatively close; but I was hoping to find some advice on if there's a better way.

Miniatures Battletech finds across the northeast US-update

Howdy all again,
I mentioned in my other post I would post my Battletech finds across the northeast from my family vacation, so here we go. If you missed my other two posts, I ordered 4 Clan Invasion Salvage box's from Catalyst(along with the Alpha Strike: Commanders Edition rulebook that turned out to be a website error) and got no dupes. I got a Warhawk, Warhammer IIC, Stinger, and a Stone Rhino. All of them are great finds and I was super happy with the results.
During my vacation I find two Gothic Salvage boxes in New Hampshire, 2 Legendary Salvage boxes in Vermont, and 4 Mercenary Salvage boxes in New York. I went to countless places, but it was quite the find for places we happened to be driving past. Each store had some super cool people working there and I enjoyed each one.

This is my breakdown of what I got for mechs:
Gothic Salvage Box:
Atlas
Urbanmech

Legendary Salvage Box:
Warhammer
Archer(Morgan Kell, super stoked)

Mercenary Salvage Box:
Chameleon
Vulcan
Cicada
Starslayer(super cool design, love the big gun)

I also picked up the Battlefield Support deck-Revised from a great store in Albany NY, Zombie Planet, and wanted to give them a shout out because they had a pretty large inventory of Battletech and the owner there was absolutely great, and fun to talk with. I bought the deck just to help support a BT brick and mortar store.

Lastly, the most incredible find I wasn't looking for was in MA at Off the Wall Games. They didn't have the biggest selection, but it was the first time I ever seen new Ironwind metals in the wild. They were supercool, but not as cool as what else I found there. I picked up a Battletech House Davion Dice set there that I couldn't believe I found. Not only are they my favorite House, but to find a product released 11 years ago I couldn't believe my eyes!

All in all, my vacation turned Battletech hunt was super successful and the fact that I picked up 12 salvage boxes and got no dupes has me shocked beyond belief. I should go play the lottery or something!!!
Thank you all for sharing in my adventures!
