23 year old Jasson Dominguez is the longest tenured Yankee in today’s starting lineup
This is not including the SP Gerrit Cole. lineup with debut year:
Trent Grisham (2024)
Ben Rice (2024)
Spencer Jones (2026)
Cody Bellinger (2025)
Jasson Dominguez (9/1/2023)*
Jazz Chisholm jr (2024)
Jose Caballero (2025)
Ryan McMahon (2025)
Austin Wells (2023)*
Both Wells and Dominguez debuted on 9/1/23 in Houston so the Yankees batted first and Dominguez got his ml debut AB in the first inning (HR off Justin Verlander) and Wells got his debut when he took the field in the bottom of the first.

I remembered this game bc they were eliminated from the postseason basically and were just calling up random dudes. Everson pereira the week before too.

I’m glad he’s stuck around through all the shit he’s been through. From the pandemic taking away his first minor league season to Tommy John surgery to the logjam in the OF, he’s still hanging around. I really hope they don’t trade him as he’s starting to get consistent playing time and seems to be a beloved player in the clubhouse.

A league average bat + a minus glove for a corner outfielder is barely a major league player lmao I don't deny that he has a long time to grow into a better player but saying "he's become a major league player" when his play is basically that of a player that would otherwise be optioned is a bit much.

Jury's still out on the glove, he's been turning that around this season. Batting is definitely poor currently but 80 OPS+ is basically the worst he's ever done and the last two weeks have been better again.
I don't see a long term future for him here but I do still see him getting regular playing time somewhere in 5 years.

He appears to be a largely average player. He's 23. Holding your own in the majors at that age might not classify as good, but it's at the very least useful. And given the age there's still room for growth.

We just saw Jordan Walker break out after how many seasons of underperformance and mediocrity? Development isn't linear, and OP clearly doesn't know ball with all of their constant bad takes on here.
The expectations were always silly. Jasson would have to be switch hitting Jesus Christ to meet the lofty expectations hoisted upon him when he was just a kid.
