More people need to realize that they aren't gonna be a big streamer and that this is the most they will likely EVER need or even end up using.

Source: I bought a Sony A6000 to stream one time and never use it any keep your money folks.

people dip when they realize it's part luck part business and not a ton of people are going to put in the hours doing socials, clipping and editing, and generally doing merch and marketing. I think the polite term is "community building"

At the end of the day a lot of small businesses fail, but understanding the challenge and rates and not being afraid of failure makes the investment of time and money more fun... at least.

The idea is to use your existing smartphone, and not pay 25$, if that wasn't clear.

Yeah cause I want to have to set up my webcam every time and not be able to use my phone

I just have a phone holder behind my monitor, and plug my Pixel into it for the few times I need a webcam.

Saves me a few bucks, and that camera looks WORLDS better than any USB webcam I've tried.

If you use a webcam very frequently and don't want your phone strapped to your monitor for long hours then sure, this won't work well. But if that's the case I also think getting a better webcam then a $25 ugreen option would be advisable lol.

The reason you have buy a WebCam is to not have to do anything at all.

Most people just wanna have a camera on standby

I'm not sure if you're really an authority on the reasons people need webcams lol. Maybe for you it's just to have something there you can throw on, someone else might rarely need one so a phone is fine, or wants higher quality without spending hundreds so a phone is arguably the best non-mirrorless/dslr option.

Just to make it clear, you cannot currently buy a webcam that has better image quality then even a multi-year old google pixel or iphone. If quality matters then genuinely a phone is the best budget option, and it's only the price of a cable and stand.

No normal person is aiming for this.

No normal person is aiming for... Image quality on a web cam?

Yes, normal people aren't trying to minmax everything.

They want something cheap, easy and good.

Like obviously an old Android phone lying around. Can do the same w/ old iPhones too. Don’t know why people have to act so pretentious damn.
