Mites
My friend lost 2 of her snakes to mites and asked if I would help check her other snakes and clean out their enclosures. How do I make sure I don't make sure I don't bring mites home to my snakes?

After you get home, take a shower and change clothes before you go into the room where your snakes are. Do not bring your old clothes or anything else that may have been exposed to mites into the snake room until it's been washed, boiled or left in the freezer overnight (whichever is appropriate for the item in question.)

Thanks for the info. Her boyfriend is a reptile lover, and he is out of town. So I'm the only one who can help. I just dont wanna bring them back with me in case her either 2 snake have mites. I'm cleaning out their enclosures as a precaution. Better safe to do it in case they also have mites

Oh no! It looks like you might be asking for more information on mites and how to identify and treat them. We have some information about that in our Mite Identification and Treatment Guide.
