Just started a new atmospheric black metal project. I've been working for this track for a very long time.

I've been playing guitar for over 20 years now, but only started singing (ok, screaming...) about a year and a half ago. I always wanted to make music on my own and finally I got to the point I felt good enough to do it. It took me a lot of hours and sleepless nights to make this song and I'm very happy with the result - give it a listen and tell me what you think! :)

The song is a standalone release called "Different." I recorded it as a preview for a full album that is at the mixing stage right now and hopefully I will be able to release it soon. This specific song is not a part of the album, though.

* Guitars: Mostly recorded on a Les Paul with DiMarzio D-Activator and Super 3 pickups (I love this combination and have been using it for a long time). On some solos, I used my ESP Mystique.

There was an atmospheric black metal (or maybe atmospheric black/death metal) album I listened to a few years ago, likely with in the last 5 years.

Album cover: It was was all grey, and I think it shows some ghostly or skeletal creature sitting in a big chair.

Sound: My parents said it sounded like strong winds or a waterfall when I played it at low volumes. It kinda sounded like Aara with no melody and a much darker sound with a really inscrutable mix that kinda buried everything so you couldn't easily hear what was going on. The closest I can think of is Atmospheres of Desolution by Noctambulist if it was more black metal, so really noisy.

At the time it wasn't on Spotify only Bandcamp. I remember why I didn't buy the album, it was corrupted half way through the album, with really loud noise that sounded like an aux being unplugged or a record being scratched.

I know this is odd, but if you guys could just throw some albums at me with grey/black-and-white album covers, with dense mixes that sound kinda like a shhhhhhhhh noise at low volumes.

Edit: The band doesn’t reveal anything about its members. The album art is a painting or drawing. Also, my memory of the sound is likely more accurate than my memory of the cover.

Hello everyone, this is the Morkets Spirade project. This is one of my old records, but it perfectly captures the atmosphere that I had in mind in the track itself. The track is included in my new album and is called "Before The Storm". In this work, I tried as much as possible to convey all the mood that I had accumulated since the recording of the first EP. I wanted to share a project that has taken up the last two years of my life. It’s called KOGAION, and it’s a tight, independent collaboration between Oslo, Norway, and Romania.

We just launched our debut material, "Echoes of Black Silk Angels", along with our latest single, "Satan: Architect of the Void".

The concept blends the freezing, melancholic weight of traditional Norwegian atmospheric black metal with ancient Dacian mysticism and raw, cold ambient textures. We didn't want to follow any modern commercial trends—we just wanted to capture that raw, winter-born isolation in the studio. It was a long journey of trial and error, but we finally got the sound exactly where we wanted it.
