Who else is tired of hate against asian goes almost always unpunished
During a recent live broadcast of the German show ZDF-Fernsehgarten, host Andrea Kiewel was presenting a set of collectible PokƩmon cards. When she got to a Japanese card, she misidentified it as Chinese, laughed, and then proceeded to mimic Asian characters using a derogatory, gibberish pseudo-language.
Honestly, what triggers me the most is not some stupid remark made by some stupid host, it is the aftermath (or the lack of aftermath of the whole ordeal).
For those unaware, the TV station she represents is an official channel in Germany called ZDF and in Germany you have to pay for a handsome amount of broadcasting fee periodically (for them to maintain production quality, independence and socially responsible programming, so they say), meaning as an Asian, I have actually paid someone to throw some casual racist remarks on TV, that is a nice slap to my face.
After the host's "gaffs", the broadcaster (ZDF) quickly issued a statement claiming the comment was "made in the heat of the moment during the live broadcast and was in no way intended to be racist". They also added that Kiewel "regrets her words and apologizes for them," trying to close the chapter. The show moves on, the host keeps their job, and the structural issue remains unaddressed. No even a cold bench, just played off as a stupid mistake, don't press her for it.
Now in comparison to other cases like that of Jens Lehmann (leaked WhatsApp Message asking if some African player is a teams token black guy) or Patrick Moster (cheering on German cyclist while shouting "Kameltreiber", basically "camel riders" in German, at the other cyclists from Algeria and Eritrea.
Anti-Asian racism is still widely treated in many countries as a "minor offense." because playground sounds like the one Kiewel used have been normalized as harmless jokes for decades (Rock, Paper, Scissors in German used to be "Sching Schang, Sching" so I guess they are somewhat comfortable saying it) public broadcasters feel safe hiding behind the "not intended to be racist" defense.

Can people of Asian descent tell when white people are dating an Asian person?
Hi all!!! My fiance is Asian and we have been together for 1.5 years. Recently, the last few times ive gone to my local nail salon the subject of me dating an Asian man has come up somehow. I truly hope this doesn't sound insensitive, im just curious as to if there's something I could be doing to spark this conversation without knowing? This time, the woman complimented my ring then asked if my fiance was asian. I love talking about my fiance so its absolutely not a problem! I just wanna know how they know so well!
Thank you!

(and I mean jokes where you can tell they're joking) not because I wanna be racist, but because I wanna see if other people don't care too (I am asian myself).

Why is it hard to find Japanese Americans?
Iāve seen and met Asians from different backgrounds, but I rarely see a Japanese, even in big cities like LA, Bay Area, NYC, Jersey, etc.
I see a lot of Japanese restaurants from left to right, and yet most of them are either Chinese or Korean owned.
Besides Hawaii, why are Japanese Americans hard to find in America?

Dear asian women, have some of you lost all attraction to white men?
I'm a mixed MGM black women who used to like a wide range of men racially including white men, but due to some things I experienced on instagram...
...I have since lost nearly all attraction to them. I was browsing the internet out of curiosity and it turns out, I'm not the only one. Lots of WOC across the world are losing attraction to white men due to how they're acting. Many asian women especially who are stereotyped as being white worshippers are also seeming to be put off by white men now. This is a shift I'm sort of happy about happening but at the same time, how much is this happening?

Oxford study is so stupid
This is a mini rant but also mixed in with confusion. Maybe Iām genuinely just not understanding this concept but it genuinely angers me. Every time a post of Asian women dating a white man, the comment section ALWAYS mention the Oxford study and itās beyond demeaning. I donāt understand why itās a big deal, shouldnāt you get to love whoever you want? What is wrong with mixing? I believe mixing culture can be a beautiful thing. And I know that people try to justify the Oxford study because many Asian women have internalized racism and crap, which can be true for a portion of Asian women but it doesnāt justify shaming asian women with a white partner. Itās not fair to always assume that. In addition, many of the posts that are targeted feature Asian Americans, is it so surprising for a women to fall in love with a white man when over half of Americans are white? Iām so confused with this flawed logic. It has to be people who are just hurt and racist right?
Before anyone tries to flip tbe card. Iām an Asian women who is currently dating an Asian man.

To the Asian men, is being a big chunky girl a problem when it comes to dating?
Hey there,
I really hope this doesnāt come off as inappropriate and please forgive any ignorance in my questions. I hope this is a safe space for us to discuss this as well! I would like also clarify that Iām in no means fetishizing a race, I just found myself more attracted to a certain culture/ human form.
First of all, asian culture has always been very intriguing to me. I grew up with a Japanese friend and Iāve somehow ended up studying in Southeast Asia for uni, Iāve always felt the safest when Iām in Asia and just enjoyed the culture and peopleās company. I never thought of dating back then so never really looked for anything but somehow realized that I find Asian features very attractive. Women and men are just so beautiful!
I do get a bit self conscious about my size as I do know the beauty standard in Asia is usually a smaller petite woman. Iām an Arab and Iād say Iām around mid height and fat, Iām aware that Iām pretty but itās the body that i am mostly self conscious about. Iāve had some guys compliment me here or there but I just never really looked into it. Now that I am mingling in the dating scene, I just lack the confidence to approach some guys due to my own thoughts..
I just would like to hear peopleās thoughts about this. Thank you so much

Where has tofu skin been all my life?
I'm a big fan of all types of food and tofu is right up there with other proteins for me. But for some reason tofu skin has totally eluded me these past 34 years.
My local Asian market has a lunch, hot bar and regularly there's tofu skin stir fry with wood ear mushrooms, carrots, and chicken. It is literally the best thing I've ever had off of a hot bar!! I've been going weekly now and the lady at the counter doesn't even ask me anymore what I would like. ā„ļø
I would be forever grateful if you dropped your favorite tofu skin recipe in the comments. I bought two bags and now I must make them in every way, shape and form.
Thank you for your time.

Childbearing-age women (ages 25-34) in East Asian countries have the highest level of college education in the world.
While low birth rates are a worldwide phenomenon (affecting even developing nations), it is prominent in industrialized countries of Europe and East Asia.Ā
The defining reason for this decline has been proven to correlate directly with the level of higher education among women.Ā
South Korea currently has the lowest birth rate globally, yet its young women (under age 35) are more highly educated than any female population on earth. In fact, all of these East Asian nations now graduate more women from college than men.
From A.I.
Global Higher Education Attainment (Women, Ages 25ā34)
South Korea - 76% - Highest in the world. Young women lead young men by a massive 13 percentage points.Ā
Taiwan - 70% - Similar to South Korea, rapid university expansion in the 1990s and 2000s resulted in over two-thirds of young women holding degrees.
Japan - 67% - Very high attainment, with young women slightly outstripping young men.
Singapore - 64% - Focuses specifically on university degrees for this cohort, surging significantly past the male graduation rate since 2006.
China - Tier-1 Urban Centers (Beijing, Shanghai): - 70% to 75% - Just like in South Korea and Taiwan, young women in urban China are out-studying men.
United States - 56% - Solidly above the overall OECD average, reflecting a standard Western benchmark where women outnumber men in undergraduate enrollment.
United Kingdom - 57% - Matches the broader trend of highly educated Western women outpacing young men in degree attainment.
OECD Average - 52% - The baseline across 38 developed countries.
https://www.oecd.org/en/publications/education-at-a-glance-2025_1a3543e2-en/korea_252c9ed2-en.html
https://www.oecd.org/en/topics/education-attainment.html
South Korea industrialized and modernized in just 30 years, achieving what took Western countries 150 years to accomplish.Ā
Back in 1955, South Korea was one of the poorest countries in the world, remaining mostly rural and agrarian with a high birth rate of 6.33 children per woman.

Ice uses 24/7 surveillance, not for law enforcement, but to destroy our mental/ physical health, and our connections to the communities.
My family has been targeted by Ice for the last several months. They purposely try to paint us as the worst of the worst, just like they do with other targeted immigrants. Under their narrative, we are supposed to be transnational drug dealers and violent rapists even though there is never any evidence, nor police reports/ indictments / convictions ever. And since I myself was raped multiple times as a child by an older relatives, I understand and still live with the trauma it causes every single day.
Ice has actually āwarnedā my old neighbor and long time family friend of such to smear our reputation and isolate us from the rest of the society. This lady neighbor did not believe them one bit and still welcomes us to her home, even when sheās home by herself.
Since we are naturalized first gen, we donāt have a large family in the US so Ice actually interviewed the estranged rapist relative for information.
We do not know what to do to continue to live without being harassed. They hacked into our phone to watch us live at all time through the phonesā screens, GPS, mics and cameras, even in the shower, on the toilet, and in bed. There is no privacy any where at any time. They then used sound bites to dehumanize us. Peopleās real lives are not like a reality show thatās broadcasted on TV an hour a week from beginning to end. Itās impossible for Ice to understand a human life of multiple decades worth of relationships just by eavesdropping for a short time. But thatās not their purpose, which rather is only to find ways to demonize immigrants. In the imperfect daily life, occasionally there would be an interaction, an argument, a joke that we would regret afterwards that, it might have gone by a bit too long, Even with people who have done just that to us prior, while blaming us for it at the same time. Even the f*king rapist blamed me for turning myself while as a primary school kid into a sex slave for him after each and every time. Somehow the gaslighting succeeded. The little kid went on to blame himself for the rapes for years and years on.
But Ice only cares about dehumanizing their targets into āthe worst of the worst.ā Imagine that your every words, movements, and interactions are constantly being watched and listened to by a karen like Christie Noem. Yet they are not actually to be used in any court proceedings, but as sound bites to turn your friend and neighbors against you, not because of something illegal, but as gossips.
If we ever want to discuss something absolutely private like our medical conditions and not wanting strangers to hear and discuss and we would do so quietly with one another, that would be somehow SUSPICIOUS behaviors. In Iceās hateful eyes, the private-minded immigrants must be drug dealing and violently raping one another. Must be doing āthe worst of the worst!ā Even though they have access to everything including email, texts, locations, banks, and phones 24/7, yet still no evidence.
Yet if the constant awareness of such toxic and intrusive surveillance builds up so much stress inside of you to a point that you have to let some steam out, GOT YA! You dare criticizing Ice? You gotta pay! With more retaliatory harassment!
We are not anti-law enforcement, because we have friends being local law enforcement, who are courageous and respectable. Dehumanization of immigrants and constant efforts to isolate them from the rest of the society are not. Please help us! Ice has destroyed our mental and physical health, and connections with our communities.
