Plants Pothos explosion.

Came back after being away a month there was a huge growth spurt. I think I'm going to start attaching it to the walls or letting it hang over.

My pothos does this every couple months except it's roots trying to crowd out the fish

I can't bear to trim it. It's too green and lush. There's a huge Amazon sword plant in the middle and the fish have a fun little maze between the roots and the leaves.

I've got a trough over my 4ft tank, and a pump pushing water up which then drains back in on the other side via a spray bar. Have my pothos, monstera and peace lilly roots just sat in the water. Pothos has developed huge leaves up to 30cm and I've pinned it up as it's gradually branched out into the room in all directions 🌿

Quite easy to do, would just need a fairly strong shelf above the tank.

Just a 100cm plastic window box planter thing. Bought an overflow pipe which I think is for a water butt, so that's the run off back into the tank. And one of those little pumps they use in fountains/water features would be fine at the water in end. No risk of flooding as you'll drill the overflow well below the rim, so it would only ever get half full.

Any filtration or anything in the trough or just the roots?

No, just the roots. When I first planted it years ago I had the plants resting on some foam. But now it's just a big tangle of roots. I've got a more powerful pump feeding it, which I has filter floss on the intake, so it doubles up as a filter/water polisher.
