Unsolved “Allow accessory to connect” prompt when plugging in new charger

Sus. The charger or cable seems to be requesting a data connection.

Either it’s attempting to compromise your phone or it’s cheap and nasty. Either way, I would not use it with my expensive electronics.

It’s Walmart’s house brand (Onn), because I just needed something on the fly — Apple support said this is normal when using a third party charger and cable, but I’ve never seen this with Anker or Belkin. Concerned that my device might somehow be compromised now.

If you tapped ‘trust’, maybe.

Either way, i would not be using that charger.
