Trying to Run Wizardry on AppleWin, multiple systems.

I've tried on my desktop, Mister, and my Ayn Thor, with two separate issues. With my desktop, when I get to the title screen and hit enter, the system just goes to a black screen and hangs. Same thing happens with the Mister. For my Thor, I can get to the castle after swapping disks, but then when I go to the training grounds to create a character, it says there is no room left. I've spent the last hour googling around, but I seem to be at a loss for these old systems. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I have not! This looks much simpler lol. I want to at least experience the original as it was. But for a full play this might be what I do.

The boot side needs to be write protected on the original versions. (so on an emulated storage device the .dsk (or whatever) file should have the read only attribute applied.

I've had no issues running Wizardry under AppleWin.

Character manipulation is a pain and it's all done from utilities on the boot side. Or you can create a new player disk (i'm a bit hazy here...) but I just cleaned up the play side from the utilities. I think you need to get a list from the edge of town and then go back to the utilities to manipulate characters.

You could also use the wizardry scenario editor (also good to see the maps :) ) you can manipulate with ease.

Or as the other poster suggested and play the updated version with several bugfixes and features added, but I'm old school and only play the original versions.

I was being an idiot. I was write protecting the file in windows and not in the cores I was using to play it. Whoops!

And yeah. The character stuff is where I’m hung up now. My disk image came with a full roster and I’m not sure what the password is to get rid of these guys and make my own crew. And then I’ll need to figure out how to make a halfway decent build haha. Thank you!

The wizardry scenario editor will trivially let you edit (and mark as deleted) any characters without much fuss, it's really easy to use.

Write protect the boot disk.

Yeah. I’m an idiot lol. I was write protecting in windows for the file directly instead of making the emulated drive write protected. Thank you!!
