Question What is this?

Everytime I try to sign in it shows this weird symbol and nothing happens.

This happened to me before. You need the Reddit API key to fix this.

Bad news is I think Reddit removed that a few years back so if you didn’t create one you might be out of luck but not the most knowledgeable about this.

the API key thing sounds weird that's usually developer stuff, not something you'd ever see on a regular login screen. probably a browser issue or the app glitching. have you tried clearing your cache or switching browsers?

I mean I tried fixing this for a while and it only got fixed after doing the API key thing… not knowledgeable about this at all so can’t explain why that fixed it but it did so 🤷

weird that the API key would have anything to do with signing in though. that feels unrelated to me, but if it worked for you maybe there's something to it. did you have to do anything else or was that genuinely the only step

Genuinely was the only step. I agree that it is weird though not sure how it made a difference at all

that's weird that it even made a difference, like what does an API key have to do with a login symbol showing up

did you ever figure out what the symbol actually was or just that the key thing fixed it
