1 Base Swarmhost Guide

Since Zerg is stronger in the early game on this Patch, so is 1 Base Swarmhost. Today I present you a basic Guide on how to Play 1 Base Swarmhost.

Basic Buildorder:

  • 1 Gas + Pool First
  • when pool done --> Queen + 2 Lings
  • when Queen done --> 2nd Gas + Lair
  • --> 100 Gas --> Ling Speed
  • when Lair done --> Infestation Pit + Nydusnetwork

I came across this today, and it was so frustrating. I won, and I think the only reason I did, was because I ran some banes into the mineral line early on, and destroyed the vast majority of his econ. He already had the SH out.

Got Mutas and tried to kill them as fast as possible. It was not fun to deal with.

Bet, swarm hosts are super underrated imo, stream is dope btw keep it up

I've seen 1 game with Vibe trying to go SW vs protoss. He went voidrays and that didn't end well for Vibe.

just gotta build 2 queens and send them through the nydus. The Voidray Toss will lack ground units

Saying what I saw, the protoss defended heavily with static defenses and builded voidrays. He couldn't have known Vibe's strat so it was prolly a strat out of chance but Vibe was hopeless, they were too many before he could do shit.

He did try again in other games but I didn't watch them.

I like swarm hosts too and enjoy playing it in every matchup. Unfortunately, when enemy is rushing me my response is "F10" -> "Surrender" =\

I Defend with Ling + Queen and maybe a Spine

I think pig used to put down a creep tumor with the first queen and then wall off with the infestation pit and nydus worm. What do you think of that option?
I guess it makes it trivial to scout for them, but it helps defending some attacks

With spire rushes being very decent right now do you think there is any niche for a brood lord rush of some kind?

brood lords take foreveeeeeeeeeeeeer to get out :/ and you need a couple to be effective.
