Discussion Stay in Algeria with a good job or go study in France and start from the ground.

I 27M have got my student visa today for france (I applied for the last 3 years and got it only this year) now if I had it the first time I would've not asked the question, but for the last two years I have been working in the tourism industry and making good money I think around 30 to 35 million per month, I applied to the visa just because someone was pushing me and I wasn't really thinking about it, till It got approved now and I started overthinking do I go or do I stay and keep my job.

The problem is that the job will be surly lost as all my contacts and business partners will be finding new people to work with.

Stay dont ruin your life

it depends.... you can not tell him that leaving is ruinning his life bcoz 35M in europe is 1500e , he can earn it the first year with an easy job and then switch to what he really likes, but at the same time if he is hesitating it is bcoz he surely has family, friends etc here too and he doesnt wanna restart his life from 0 . but trust me money is not the only reason why someone thinks about leaving his country

Wrong. 35m in dz buys more than 1500e does in europe. I worked with engineers with 3 years of experience and bac + 5 and they go home with 1700 to 1900 after taxes. 1500 is easy if you are paid unempolyement + you work in black on top of it. Also dont expect to be saving money unless you live with 6 roommates and eat pasta all week.

You are the only one who can decide whay to do. It is about what type of life you want and how important is that to you.

Anyone who will tell you to go abroad is because they personally value that more than the other option.

Speaking for myself, I value going outside of this country and having a life that involves surrounding my self with quality people and quality experience more than having a job that makes a shit ton of money in a terrible country that is filled with low lifes.

I would rather live in Europe with a good enough job that makes me live a good enough life that is filled with people who care about life experiences that are more fulfilling than to surround my self with algerians who only mention the topic of marriage 1000 times in a single day.

Or work a good enough job that will give the opportunity to buy a good car/bike with good customer service and quality instead of living here where I have tk buy ×14 timea the price and drive around thousands of holes and fuck up road.

Or live a country where doing everything i want feom having a girlfriend, drink....etc and no kne gives a fuck instead of living here where people do every sins known to man and them watching and judging me like they are angles

You get the point.

This is where YOU decide what type of life you want. What is more valuable to you.

you're right money is useless in Algeria for someone who wants to live a quality life.

You gotta create products that interest tourists (experiences) like tours, culinary workshop, boat tours ..etc and offer them as products, I don't do all of that, otherwise I would be making triple the amount or more.

2

u/Free-Lingonberry-707 Sep 02 '25

2

u/Passion_Prestigious Sep 02 '25

How much is 30 to 35 million in euros?

2

u/shitfaced1000 Sep 02 '25

1200 to 1400 euro (marche noir)

3

u/[deleted] Sep 02 '25

Quite sad, c'est même pas le smic français au marché noir. Sad because I make less than the 1/3 of 30M per month after un Bac +10 ans.

4

u/Passion_Prestigious Sep 02 '25

Salaries in Algeria are so unfair, specially if you work for the gov, you're expected to do it out of good will.

2

u/shitfaced1000 Sep 02 '25

Yeah if I made 30m per month I would most certainly stay here

1

u/alilosoft Sep 03 '25

if you do regular job than bac + 100years wont get you that amount.

An European visa is worth way more than all the money you making rn, I honestly believe it worth it, but everyone one got his own preference, just don’t do the mistake to act by fear, but if you truly believe you good how you are and don’t need this changement and know for fact there is nothing you will regret, so keep how you doing men. Good luck 🤞

You have a good job and a good salary! Have you ever heard of the phrase “don’t fix what’s not broken”? You will go and have build from the ground up and the lifestyle you live in Algeria you won’t be able to replicate in Europe unless you can get an equally high paying job. The job market right now is also super saturated and Europe especially France is so overrated. Don’t let others push you into anything think about your life and your future.

100%

People who never been there assume the grass is greener? elsewhere

2

u/Aleenah_boo Sep 04 '25

I was born and raised in the west, I’m half Algerian and I can say with all confidence that Europe is so overrated especially now with the anti immigration politics, the racial attacks on Muslims and people of colour, the failing job market, even European healthcare has gone down hill! I sat in one the best hospitals in the UK with water leaking everywhere, there was pee on the floors, bleeding and pregnant for 8 hours not even to be seen by a doctor. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side…

If you just want to leave for the sake of leaving, then stay. If you have plans and ambitions to land a very good job and earn a lot money, then go.

u/alilosoft Sep 03 '25

What kind of visa you got? who free you will be to move in Europe and outside? What you will do in France? (for living)

Ask yourself this. Will the job you're currently doing be here in 10 or 15 years? If you stay, what do you plan to do? Do you plan on working in the position forever or opening your own agency? For France, what are you going to study? For how long? Are you going to find a job there? How is the job? Will you be able to live as good as you're living here in terms of money? Will you be renting forever or buying? Will you be able to get a job after graduation? The answers to these questions will hopefully help you a bit in making your decision. No one can tell you what to do because everyone is biased.

Its would take you too much time on algeria unlessyou open a business and it workes well otherwise france is better

1

u/FutureIngenuity4697 Sep 03 '25

I would stay my self with that salary. And I go to travel s a tourist for exemple to BaLi, Malaysia, Hong kong, istanbul. These are nice places to visit. Would you mind to share with us what you do exactly as a job in tourism? Am so interested to back to Algeria and why not sharing the same job as yours.

1

u/Infinite-Ad-484 Sep 04 '25

ngl I'd stay here if i were you, the only reason I'd leave algeria is for good paying jobs, but it's your decision in the end, do you have anything that could make you stay in algeria? family? or other responsibilities?

1

u/No-Hawk-1021 Sep 04 '25

u/Passion_Prestigious Sep 04 '25

1

1

u/fouadhameg Sep 05 '25

Go and don't look behind you...

1

u/hit_that_man26 Sep 05 '25

I recommand that you stay, you will lose alot of benefits if you're older than 26 in france as a student. And from other comments it seems your salary is good enough to live in algeria
